Well here's an easy fix: Don't read those threads! There's a link on the top of the forum list titled "New Posts Since Last Visit". Click that and then only read the posts under the forums that interest you. This is a community of people with diverse interests, stories to tell and many friends made over the years. We share our interests, we share our joys, we share our worries, we support one another, we celebrate each other's accomplishments and we generally tolerate the differences we have with other members. Oh yeah, and all this has put us together as a community because of our common love of the leaf, so we have discussions about cigar/pipe related sometimes, too!
There are plenty of cigar forums out there that have much tighter structure and stricter forum rules. They appear to be "educational", but don't seem like much fun. But there will always be people that those type of forums appeal to.

We throw packages (yes, throw) into steel bins. If one is at the bottom, there can be a bit of weight sitting on them. Or if they go into these fabric bags, sometimes other equipment can run into them. One plus, if you send cigars priority mail, they have $50 insurance on them. If any had been damaged, I would have made a claim

Very nice. What is that "Project 895" cigar?
I got home late last night and the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Vice Commander of Mailbox Safety for the 23rd District Eastern Appalachian Operations of the United States Post Office, Chuck (aka cfickter) had sent me a letter inside a box containing some cigars (very nice ones I might add) an a nice book "The Cigar from Soil to the Soul". The letter insisted that I cease and desist using the USPO for in future "bombings" that I think are appropriate. I don't think I'll take his advise on the bombings but I sure appreciate his generosity for the cigars and book. I intend to put them up in smoke in the near future while reading the book. I might even retaliate! :thanx:

There were 5 Rothchildes but, I used one to attempt to bribe the worker's comp/liability insurance auditor that came to audit me today since he arrived at the same time as the mail...

QuoteCrazyK - 6/27/2014 11:13 PMHe seems to be on a roll lately :-)
I received a completely unexpected bomb from Loren in the mail yesterday! Thanks very much!! I'll post a picture in a bit.
Speaking of Loren, let me tell you a thing or two you guys should know about him.
The DogMan wrote me a couple of weeks ago, saying he saw a great deal on a box of cigar he knows I like. Since it's not always easy being a Canadian AND a cigar geek, Loren proposes to buy the box for me and then ship it here while I PP him the $. I more than happily accept, he orders, pays, receives and then ships to me. He even goes as far as including this mini bomb as a protector of my precious L'Atelier sticks.
I told the guy to take a few stick in my box to try them out but he would not break the seal, saying it was too pretty to be opened.
I've been dealing with him for a while now and he never ceases to amaze me. Thanks brother, truly appreciated. Just goes to show how generous the geeks can be.
Speaking of Loren... Well just a word of warning to all geeks don't go to war with this man, you'll only end up having to buy mailboxes by the case, or in my situation doors cuz my mailbox is a slot in my front door! A few weeks back he said he'd send something over and if i like it then send something back. Well of course i liked so i sent something back, to which he responded he was quite happy as well since he wasnt so well versed in isom. So i then told him illsend something down and he could send something back if he liked, well he really loved it cause he sent this... Crazy nice hit, some fantastic sticks! Thanks again Loren its very much appreciated. (hope attaching pic worked with this edit).

Most likely this forum runs on windows 2003 which by default only allows attachments smaller than 200kb. This can be solved by editing the metabase.xml on the server. Modify the AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed value to the desired value. 200kb? how do you even make a file that small?
nice. MS Paint and change the pixel value.
Or you can just upload them to a free hosting site like picturetrail.com or photobucket.com... Then it's not a bid hassle, you get perfect quality and you can edit the photo size in the drop down window before you insert it into a post.

Brad (Vroomp) hit me today as well. Thanks so much, got to love those #9's and I did not have any more. I was also damn near drooling over those pics of the Avant Garde's going around so thanks for that as well. A Viaje Zombie Antidote and two Santiago's round out the fiver. Thanks again brother.
This mystery package arrived today with no note and only the return address of Tower Pipe and Cigar in Sacramento...

Brian (bmac7754) sent me a AWESOME thanks for picking up his PIF. He noticed I was eyeing some of the Media Noches, so he sent me a couple, with some other nice sticks I haven't tried. Not necessary at all, but certainly appreciated. Thanks brother!

Tried to pick something you didn't have yet. The partagas are strong, I really like the one I smoked already.
Just and idea on age, the Noches I just got, Oliva is from 07/2013, Partagas is from 05/2014, and CAO is from 11/2013. The Gurkhas are strange but good when you have 5 minutes to pound down a smoke.

I'd like to thank Chip Lemaster for the fine selection of sticks he sent my way. Thank you brother!

Quoteraize - 9/30/2014 9:04 PM
so out of curiosity, what typically precipitates a bombing?
Quotehorseshoe - 10/10/2014 8:02 PM Still picking up the pieces, hazmat is sweeping the property for radiation, and wife is angry the dogs got loose. Vroomp dropped a bomb in the Hoosier state! Talk about a happy Friday. Such a generous thing to do to a noob. I will make an attempt at uploading a picture. Thanks for the act of kindness sir!
Without that pic, it never happened. Way to go Vroomp on hitting the new guy.

If I could just figure out how to post pictures Id post one on here.
Brad (Vroomp) showed a picture of some My Father Special S's that he had bought not too long ago. I made mention that if he was interested in trading some off to let me know. Well, little did I expect that he would bomb me with a box of them, along with three other fantastic sticks.

Thank you so much Brad! Obviously I wanted to try the Special S's, I have been wanting to try any of the Falto sticks, the Ashton is new to me but looks and smells great, and who could go wrong with the Dirty Rat?! Thank you again Brad! I will not forget it.

Just when my letter carrier was coming back from an injury there was an explosion at my mail box
The Italian Guido hit me with an outstanding selection of Olivas, which I enjoy.

Really? This to me shows how varying people's palates are. I personally never had a great Oliva other than the Melanios and some MB3's... ok and the Saison too. Not sure what I'm missing when it comes to the other Olivas. :-)
Some well placed artillery around here lately...... :smoker:

Mike (StogieDad) snuck a very nice little bomb into my Secret Santa package that could have been a SS gift all of its own. Almost all of these sticks are on my wish list. Mike, I can't thank you enough brother. You REALLY out did yourself with this bomb. He also included a very nice Diamond Crown three finger cigar carrier. I have been wanting to pick up a three finger case but haven't gotten around to it, so this is very cool. Without further adieu, here is what Mike sent
