Had a fun time playing last year, so if there is interest, I would be glad to run this again.
Set up:
I will start a private ESPN Pick'em league. All you do is pick the 10 games they provide, once a week. Not much time invested.
The buy-in is $10. At the end of the season, the winner gets a gift card for the pot. Pretty simple.
Last year, and I think we should continue this, I placed four checkpoints. Each quarter of the season was an independent contest, about 4 weeks of picks. Everyone sends a fiver of sticks to the checkpoint winner. Each of the four checkpoints is an independent contest.
The quarters will run the following weeks.
Weeks 1-4
Weeks 5-7
Weeks 8-11
Weeks 12-14
We had 9 last year I think, so the champ, MiaFLSurf, took home a cool $90 Gift Certificate and 3 of the 4 checkpoints I believe.
Who wants in? The more that play, the bigger the winnings.
One request, post on here your desire to play. I will email an invite to the league. If you have under 10 feedback and I have not dealt with you before, please just PM me so we can all be comfortable you will stick the season. The $10 will be due before the season starts. Prize packs need to be sent promptly after each checkpoint. It is not fair to leave a winner hanging in this deal. Just PM me, I am sure there will be no issue.

ESPN provides the ten games. You assign a "confidence" value of 1-10, which is the amount of points you risk on each pick. So the max number of points is 55 for each week.
I will keep the tally for each quarter, which is visible through the standings, but I post on here weekly and then post the winner after each checkpoint.

I just noticed there are 14 weeks to the contest. So what we will do is split the four quarters as follows:

Each checkpoint is independent, so the most points from weeks 5-7 win checkpoint 2.

That was a rough week for us all. The spreads with tiny to begin with, and then there were some upsets. Makes picking very hard.

Checkpoint 1 is in, and the winner is Brad! (Longhorn)
Congrats brother. This also means he has the early lead for the overall win, but there is a lot of season left and EVERYONE is still in the race.
A couple points moving forward, please notice this checkpoint is for weeks 5-7, so only 3 weeks. Two of the checkpoints will only have 3 weeks, as there are 14 weeks to pick this year.
I will post a weekly update from this point forward of who is leading the checkpoint, as it is a lot harder now to check your own status since ESPN won't break down by our checkpoints. So on Mondays, I will post the leader for the checkpoint.
Lastly, once I hear from Brad, I will post a list of each person and update once I receive your tracking number. POST THEM IN THE THREAD when you send so I can update and I know everyone has paid their 5 sticks. If it will be next week or there is a hold up, communicate that to me, not the winner. I will let them know, but I need to know who has sent or has not. I am not one to leave negative feedback nor do I think I will have to with this group. But you have to get them out in reasonable time, or I will leave negative feedback.

They played their back up, Shane Morris, for about 3Q against Minnesota and he went 7/19 for 49 yards, 1 INT and 1 Fumble Lost. It was not pretty against a bad Minnesota team. Gardner is so broken from last season, he's obviously not the answer either, but neither QB is looking good at the moment.
Assuming Hoke is gone next year, I think you'll see a bounce back. Michigan has some talent, but they have no identity and the offense is a mess. It's been the same since he got here. He's recruited, but this team is just so disorganized. I lay that on the coaching.
I only still go to games so I can hang out with my friends, and plus I couldn't sell my tickets for anything anyway.
Just a lot of parity in the Big 10, awful except for MSU. Just MHO. I hope we don't see another Big 10 team within our picks for the remainder of the season. And if it's no so I won't ever again rate them higher than my lowest picks.

Without getting into too much detail, my wife was pregnant with our first child but it was a whirlwind of a few months where they thought the baby had some bad complications. Long story short, we went through about 55 doctor visits and 4 fetal MRIs to now find out that she is going to be OK and is completely normal. So, it took all of my time, attention, etc.
I have 3 people to pay. I made the first mail out but not the other 3. Who are the three people I am sending fivers to? I hope I can get them sent out this week. If not, they will be out before Xmas - promise!
