What a sorry, lame way to start a pass.  I bet the FOG's in this one will lick every stick before transitioning.

You should add a rule that any posts to this forum have to come with an attitude.

Request sent.

The quick answer to that is that I've been traveling a lot and have been tied up quite bit in the interim with my 86 year-old parents' health problems as well as trying to get some long neglected field mowing and brush cutting under way. Little busy here in the holler now so I really don't have much time for computer fun.

Yeah, I would join but I know I wouldn't like it and then I would be behind Bruce and that is not where I want to be.  then there is the whole dealing with the USPS thing, I know I would be disappointed.

A curmudgeon Sunday afternoon; you've smoked a cigar; you've nursed an Old Curmudgeon Ale. Now your fire has calmed down and retreated inside the ash-covered and sexily glowing coals in your s**tty little kettle grill. It is now time to cook your chicken thighs. Place them on the grill skin-side-down; plunk the lid on top of your grill, make sure the ventilation holes are open, and walk away. Go have another beer, watch a half-inning's worth of baseball (or eight pitches worth of an AL East game), or cuss out your neighbor with the absurd propane abomination prod his stupid leg of lamb with a digital thermometer while his bored guests lose interest in their goat cheese-and-watermelon amuse bouche. a-holes.

Fer Christ'ss sake, if they can't find the request button, they probably can't find their dillywacker either and they're probably a lot more concerned about that. Just get this thing moving or we're gonna need a truckload of Metamucil to finally get moving again.

Great!  Now you two are going to piss off Kent again.    Its a meat RAFFLE, not an auction.  There is no bidding.  You hold up your paint stick and they spin the wheel.  Winner, winner, chicken!

Come to think of it, that sounds even more boring than a meat auction.  But not as boring as this Pass, so its got THAT going for it!   :snoring:

OMG, the size of this box has already grown by 50% after only 4 guys.  Nobody down the line is going going to be able to afford to ship this!  You're not doing anybody but Don a favor by sticking in 9 freakin' cigars! Let's start trading stick for stick, or even better, take 3 and only put back 2!  Or somebody steal the damned Pass before it gets to me!

I put in more than I took because I felt that I was taking too many out of the pass, and a couple of them were really good cigars...in my humble opinion. I usually take 2-3 tops, but these were all sticks that I had been wanting to get for a while, and being on a buying freeze until my house sells, passes/trades are the only way for me to get cigars right now. And, even though he is a grumpy ol' fart, just like all y'all, I consider Don a friend...a grumpy a$$hole of a friend, but a grumpy a$$hole of a friend who deserves a few extra sticks! So Bruce, if you skip the bingo halls just once or twice a month, I am sure you can afford a little bump in shipping costs...ya cheap a$$ ol' fart!!  :shy:    :lmao:

FINE!  I'll just tell my youngest that she can't get braces now and will have to live with crooked teeth forever because daddy had to spend all that money on SHIPPING a pass full of yard 'gars from an "overly generous" Geek in Texas to help out a grumpy old retired man in Florida!  I'm sure she'll understand.

Puts & Takes done, removed the Serie V that was lost or not properly inventoried.  In the mail tomorrow.

Box is in good shape, after I removed the 40lbs of tape I was able to save $99.40 on shipping.  But of course to get the tape off I needed my scissors from the other room.  I was running back to the box and well you know what happens when you run with scissors!

OK, transitioned to Brad.  Brad should be there tomorrow!

Sounds like the mail carrier didn't feel like trying to lug that 100 pound box of cigars up to the door and took the easy way out.

FYI - If you print your postage from home, there is a new option for "Carrier - Leave If No Response".  It defaults to unchecked, so if you want the carrier to leave the package at the door, then it has to be checked.

So I was wrong. There was a notice left, shoved down at the bottom of the mail box that the wife missed yesterday when she brought the mail in. I still maintain though that they never tried to deliver it yesterday. I will try to have this back out tomorrow, but it honestly probably won't be until Friday. I'm going to spend tomorrow waiting on the mailman to show up

Take your time, Bradley! I already told Don last night that I won't be shipping it out until the 1st of the month because I'll have to wait for my end-of-the-month check to be able to pay all that postage.

Or maybe I could just take them out of the container and jam them into a ziplock bag inside of a small flat rate box.   :?:   Anyone have any experience with that?

The box they were in was getting too small so I had to double the size of the box.... But then there was too much room in the box, so I had to add a couple of rocks to it to make things fit in all nice and tight Bruce. It will be nice and big/heavy for you to ship out

Went home at lunch and found the Pass in the mail.  Puts and Takes done and dropped it off at the Post Office on the way back to work.  9114901230801451854518

There was STILL so much tape on this damned box, so I removed the clumps of it.  Brad spent $8.85 shipping it to me, and with the tape removed I only had to spend $7.70 to send it to Kerry, even after adding an extra cigar.  And BONUS:  Now I've got a bunch of extra tape now to use on future box passes! :dancing:

Heading your way, Kerry!

That would be fun for the whole family!  When our boys were younger, we had game night - they were wonderful!  We used to go to Kentucky Fried Chicken and get a huge bucket of extra crispy and eat while playing...  Hey Ken, I bet you can find some really fresh KFC in the 'holler!  You and the dogs could play - spread the cigars out on the floor and let them pick the ones to put back into the pass!

You're missing the point of this pass, Gary.  You're not supposed to open and go through it all sanitary and sterilized (wait ... isn't Don sterilized?   :?: )

Damn, lost my train of thought.  Oh, yeah, so a manly curmudgeon would go into the pass with crank case grease on one hand and a meatball sub (extra cheese and onions) in the other hand.  Sneezing is OK, but boogers are not.  (Don't want it to be gross.   :blech: )  It's a manly man's curmudgeon pass, not a some damned girly pass!  :martini:

QuoteCigary - 9/24/2014  8:21 PM  I can hardly wait til I get this box of....whatever it is.  I bought a medical gown and respirator with 12 ml gloves and a pair of tongs with  shears and a robot to get into this thing.  Is this a Go Pro moment or what?
You're missing the point of this pass, Gary.  You're not supposed to open and go through it all sanitary and sterilized (wait ... isn't Don sterilized?   :?: )  Damn, lost my train of thought. :martini:

So I won't be needing my strap on is what you're saying???(http://www.cigargeeks.com/../images/emoticons/eek.gif)

You all bunch of pu$$y's you don't need a damn chemical suit to open the pass.  Shyt, Gary is a big promoter of KL and he will use that shyt in his humidor.  Get off my ass with all your banter about being old, you see Brian and all his gray, his ass is old too. Bunch of F**king panty wearing MF*ers, get off yer as$$ and keep the pass going, cause I said so

I'll even use 'used KL' if I have to when I stumble across some old Drew Estate cigars.

I say we call the next pass  "The Pain in the A$$ Pass"....that's something we can all aspire to being a part of.

At this point in my life I'll even take Gray Hair...the mountaintop is melting.

Whadda ya mean "dogs are LIKE family"? And don't worry about KL on my account...we don't 'llow no cats here in the holler.

The pass showed up in my box yesterday. Looks like it may have come in on the 25th but the PO ladies didn't get around to letting me know it was there until late in the morning after I had already checked my mail.

Anyway, me and the dogs will go through the choices and I'll tie the box to the mail mule when the PO opens at 1030. I don't have any tape so I will just bind up the box with some vines since we have plenty of those.

Did my takes and puts....some very good cigars on this Pass and I could have entertained taking more but didn't want to get too greedy.  I tried to get the package out to the next brother here in the area so I Googled the address and of course was lead on a wild goose chase that took me all over Woodstock, Ga......nice area to ride in on the motorcycle but just couldn't find his place so I just mailed it out and will get there tomorrow.

I hope that everyone found some enjoyment in participating in the pass and got a cigar or 2 they wanted. A lot of nice cigars throuout the pass. I will double check, but I left feedback for every one to this point. I appreciate all of you participating!

A special thanks to Bruce for NOT putting in the Pineapple White Owls. Oh and this salute is for you!

Annually? Only if I forget about what a rip-off this pass was by next year. Catch me on a night when I've had one too many bourbons and I'll probably join, but then I'll regret it by the next morning.
