So, we've moved all our stuff from the apartment to the new home. And I had a storage unit that I have cleared out and moved here as well, damn we had a lot of stuff!
But computer just came back up, and cigars are unpacked. Internet is provided by my cell at the moment, getting it installed in a week or so. My office, man cave, lounge is coming together nicely, although rather slowly.
We had some start up issues, but they are being solved. Dish washer that I'd kept at the storage unit was broken and leaked water all over the kitchen, replaced. The drain for the washing machine was plugged so it spilled water all over the washroom floor, rinsed and opened. And the electrics in the basement is kinda messy, electrician comes tomorrow. Gawd dammit the previous owners
I am missing a fan and a door and then my man cave is smoke ready! :dancing: Attaching some pictures of it's current status.
Now for one glass of my finest Whisky and then off to bed :martini:

The switch is a 24 port managed smart switch, used to be part of the server rack when I lived in my previous house. Before the wife and kids, when I had enough space for a server room. Now I use it for all my computer, printer, scanner, UPS, docking station stuff. You don't have a server rack for your computer stuff? That's just crazy :shy:
Great to have you back, Thomas! Looks like the new home is working out well for you!
Looks nice. You'll have to post some pics when it's done. Congratulations once again on the house, Thomas!
Congrats on getting moved in, time for a cigar!
Welcome back Thomas! glad the move went, mostly, well. We will be doing the same thing soon, as my wife and I close on our first house this coming Monday. Congratulations again!!
Looks good, the wife's company didn't come through on promises so we are packing up and heading back to West Virginia,,, hope you enjoy your place as much as I am going back home,,,
Good to hear the move is going well.

Looking good!
congratulations on your new home. Hope all goes well
Good to see you back around here Thomas.
Your den looks a lot like mine, computer stuff all over, rackmounts and of course, cigars and adult beverages.
Thanks for all your wishes brothers! My wife is taking the kids to the cabin this weekend, so I have the whole weekend to myself! Man I can't remember the last time that happened, so I am hoping to get plenty of things done in the man cave. And smoke some cigars, if there is a herf this weekend; I am in!
I will of course keep posting pictures :) My wife has been very understanding from the beginning for my need for a man cave, I'm lucky to have her; she is awesome!
Mojo66: That is the only way ;)
Good to see you posting again, Thomas, and welcome back!
The place is coming together nicely. :bigthumbs:
Looking sweet
House looks great. Nice having you back.
Just ordered a fan for my cigar lounge today, a duct fan for a 5.9 inch duct. Moving 12 360 ft3 of air pr hour. Door is next! :bigthumbs:
nice. I added one too some time back.

How much air are you moving? I wan't to keep the lounge at low pressure when I smoke, to make sure that air is sucked in rather than smoke leaking out.
you suck out too much air too fast it may very well effect the burn rate of your cigar. I hope that is adjustable!

How? Because of the decreased pressure or just the movement of air?
And yes, I also bought this :shy:

1200 cfm on a potentiometer type control. make up air comes from a damper on the opposite side of the room.

1200 cubic feet pr minute? Isn't that a lot? I think mine is around 200, if my calculations is correct. It is 350 m3/h.

I run on low for me and kick it up to what is needed when a bunch of us are smoking. I bought some spiral duct to run down the ceiling with three intakes but haven't got that in yet. it's a pretty big room.
Nice, And here I am just sticking a box fan in the window of my man cave, Note to self, Time to upgrade..

Shaping up nice there Thomas
Nice setup. If sound level preoccupies you, since your fan looks like the inline type, you could put if out of the room and away from your working area. Just as effective to move air but much less noise that way.
I use a similar one to suck warm air out of my Home theater's rackmount and the fan/motor is actually hidden in the (suspended) ceiling of the next room.

It's not bad at all after I installed the noise trap actually. And I don't have anywhere else to put it, the outlet goes straight through the wall and out. And we will be getting a patio out there eventually so no room for an outdoor fan. I would if I could though :)
That looks like it will turn out nice.
looks neat. did you make the trap? I haven't seen one yet.
That looks pretty cool man.
Looking good Thomas
looks really cool

The trap is the box hanging in front of the fan, on the inlet side. No I did not make it, it's apparently made for boats due to it's small size. But I think it would be pretty easy to make one, it's really just a box with insulated sides.
Thanks for all the feedback :)

Looking good! The mave has a portal.
It's been broken in! Thanks to Don and Chuck for taking part
Looking good.
I seem to have encountered a problem I did not anticipate. It get's quite hot in here, it is located in the basement and has no ovens but still it reaches 75 when I'm in here working on the computer. This electronic equipment is generating more heat than I thought, and the room is quite good insulated with concrete on three sides.
Running the fan periodically now to reduce the temperature to around 70. This might be a problem in the summer months... But I have some time to think of a solution :)

Ductless HVAC. I have an LG unit running and it works great - you can get them with a heater option too.
Otherwise, Kent has a Green Bay Packer G-String that you can wear when it's too warm.

Yeah, we have one of those for heating in the living room; they are great indeed. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that though, I do have a portable air conditioning unit in case of emergency. And I'm looking to reduce the heat output from my equipment. Which made me by two new (larger) computer screens because they generate less heat :D Win-win.
I'll PM Kent about the G-String :lmao:
If you wear it to a herf, make sure you warn people!
