It's that time of year, time to get the Secret Santa rolling again. Here's how it works:
Let me know in this thread if you are interested in participating. You must have achieved Veteran status or higher to be part of this. The cutoff date to get your name in will be November 28th, no exceptions will be made to this. You will then be assigned, at random, another person from the list to play Santa for. You will send your recipient a total of six cigars. This will include 5 good quality sticks, which you think your recipient will enjoy. One of these five sticks should be designated as a New Years Eve smoke, typically people have done this with the highest end or most rare stick they send, though this is not required. The sixth cigar you send is the "Lump of Coal" cigar, and should be a smoke that would be worthy of giving to a cigar mooch or annoying relative.
The cigars should be sent in time to arrive before Christmas. Please take into account that mail is typically a little slower at that time of year. Also, please remember this is a SECRET Santa, you aren't supposed to let your recipient know you are their Santa. (Until the gift arrives, anyway.)
To get a better idea what to send to your recipient, take a look at any posted wishlists, as well as past reviews.
If you have any questions, you can post them here or PM me.

Remember, you have until November 28th to get your name on the list. I will be PMing everyone the name of their recipient within a day or two of that.
Also, make sure your shipping address is correct in your profile, so your Santa will know where to send your gift.
Just a note to the newer members of the Secret Santa:
Although Geek math and generosity is legendary at here at CG, we try to keep the Secret Santa to the rules; i.e. 6 cigars total (1 of those very special & 1 of those a lump of coal). This puts everybody on a level playing field and avoids making somebody else feel like they didn't send enough or that their gift didn't measure up to other gifts. Its supposed to be a fun exchange and not cause stress for anyone because of financial or other circumstances.
Just an FYI before we start this up. :bright:
Thanks for the reminder Bruce. Last year some of us got out of hand a bit. I will send six sticks this year.

I believe that is exactly what prompted Bruce to post this. I guess the rules this year will be a little more strict. We do not want anyone else to feel like their package wasn't enough. If you feel the need to bomb or otherwise your person please do it in a second package or a part clearly marked as not part of the secret Santa.

I agree I was just picking on Bruce seeing as he is an enabler after all
Hey Rebecca I will play this year since I'm no longer hospitalized
One stick is a lump of coal eh? This should make it fun. I do have a question, are extra gifts allowed to be attached to the cigars? IE a beverage to pair with said smokes or perhaps some chocolates etc?

Thanks, Bruce.
I'm not going to tell people that under no circumstances should you send any extras with this. I'm all for people acting as the spirit of generosity moves them. However, do try to keep it reasonable if you really feel you must send extras. Also, if you do not (or cannot) send extras, it is neither expected nor required that you do so. So long as you send the six cigars outlined in the rules, you have sent all that you need send.
If people are really feeling moved by the holiday spirit, you can always just bomb some random Geeks.
Now up to 43 for the Secret Santa. Good to see you back, Jeff!

Looking like another hefty list of geeks this year. Just a reminder to help out your Santa, unblock your wishlist or VH so they can browse your stash. I understand some don't want to show their current inventory, but at least the previous smokes and or wishlist would make it allot easier.

Working on my list now guys
My recipient has a whish list, but it's not overly wishy. Guess that I will just have to make due
I'm sure my wishlist is obnoxious as well, my giftee does not have a wish list up. If this describes you, you have about 24 hours to get a list up. I am super busy coming up and leaving town for a bit on the 18th so I will most likely be packing up tomorrow night and mailing on wed, since I am going to the post office anyway. Hopefully the wishlist-less person will take care of this tonight, or else I will have to "make due" also!

My standard "go to" cigars are generally the CAO Brasilia GOL!, DE Nica Rustica, LGC Serie R, Punch Rare Corojo
Lately been smoking the Flatbed Reds & Greens, along with the Crowned Heads Four Kicks & JD Howards, Also the DPG Series JJ and Blue Labels
What I don't have enough of is the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especials (any year)
What I would like to get my hands on would be Crowned Heads Mason Dixon North & South
Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, Right down Santa Claus lane. USPS Tracking # 9114 9010 7574 2679 2612 12 Expected Delivery Fir 12/05/14
Use my wish list as a guide. A lot of it is admittedly "Pie in the sky". I gravitate to med/full.
Happy Holidays all!
get me what you get me! :bigthumbs:

I too don't really have a updated wish list but am open to anything. Anything that looks cool is good with me, I do however prefer darker cigars.
I just checked my recipients wish list. Good luck with that, maybe next year will go better for you  I do have a bunch of coal coming your way though :lmao:

I've been updating my Wishlist the past couple of days and just realized today that no one else can see it. :banghead:
I have just updated that. It's not much of a list (Sorry Secret Santa) but hopefully you can tell the kind of smokes I like based on that and what's in my humidor.

I drink the 7 year old HC and it's pretty darn good and very cheap. I always bring back as many as I can whenever I'm off to "the" island. I do have a few spare bottles, too bad my recipient doesn't have it in his wish list ;-)
If you can get it, the Cubay is pretty good too but a bit more pricey.

Just checked the Tracking # Santa gave me when I dropped the package off looks like he is dropping a box off to a good little boy Today.
Tracking number says out for delivery. Someone will hopefully be enjoying getting their mail today!
Quotetimpellis - 12/5/2014 9:22 AM Tracking number says out for delivery. Someone will hopefully be enjoying getting their mail today!
Awesome :bigthumbs: My tracking number said my package was delivered yesterday evening. I hope he enjoys it.
Mine will soon be on the way! Look out!
I will get mine out sometime soon.
Great to see some of these launching and being close to delivery already.
Just a reminder that your gift should arrive with your recipient sometime before the 25th. Also remember that mail can move a little slower than normal around this time of the year.
Yep. I'll be getting mine out Monday or Tuesday
Santa's sleigh has lifted off from the Post Office. Arrival is expected on Monday. Look out!
Hope we start seeing some pics soon. Very interested to see what is flying around.
Christmas cigar porn, gotta love the season!
:dancing: I see some Geeks have gotten packages already that is cool :bigthumbs: I can't wait to see the cigar porn the comes soon. Hopefully they don't wait till Christmas to open them.
Hope to have mine out by Monday or Tuesday.
Are we posting pics as we get them or are we waiting to post all at once.
As we get them is how I understood it. But Hell I have been wrong before
I like seeing them as they land. Fun to have new pics almost every day.
I better get me a package ready and send out to my person. Going to make me do some homework as the VH is private.

I will be sending mine out next week,, hope it's acceptable,,,,,,,,tick tick tick tick tick2!
*waits impatiently for the pictures to roll in*
My wish list was opened but I realized yesterday only that my Public VH was set as private. All fixed now.
My package will leave the North (Pole) on Monday, my recipient should have it before December 20th but if USPS takes it around the USA for a little sightseeing (as it sometimes happens), my package will still make it on time for Christmas
It's way cool to be a Geek, but being a Secret Santa Geek is just a blast.

A lucky Geek will get what's coming to him today according to USPS. Santa's gift was at my kid's local post office early this morning and is out for delivery. Check your mailbox / doorstep if you live in a US state that:
- Is snowy in the winter
- Shares a border with Canada
- Loves to tax stuff and mingle in people's private lives
- Is sometimes called a Nanny State
- where 16 Oz is a maximum, not a minimum
Need I say more?

The Eagle has Landed!
What a fantastic collection of smokes. I can't thank you enough. If you're a Curmudgeon, I don't know what that makes me. I will post pics on the other thread as soon as I can figure out my new computer that for whatever reason does not include "Picture Manager" as part of the Office program. Also the wife is hosting a "Christmas Tea" today so I'm getting out of dodge and heading to the Wooden Indian to hang out and enjoy a couple stogies. PS: The ladies don't drink tea either.
Merry Christmas Ken and thank you! (pics probably tomorrow)

Merry Christmas, Steve! Ahem....that Tat Cojonu 2012 might just possibly be a Habano instead of a Broadleaf version now that I think about it and realize that I didn't look at the band all that closely. Don't matter much because they are both fairly tasty. Enjoy!
Mine (finally) went out yesterday, but I found the note that was supposed to be in the box on my desk this morning...so if you get a surprise box from St. Louis, it might be from me! HO!HO!HO!
Mine has been delivered as of Monday, hope some one was home.
Got mine today from Dan (Kid Montana). He did fine, real fine! See the pictures in the picture thread to see how fine he did!
Thanks! :bigthumbs:
Mine went out a few minutes ago. 9505 2597 4352 0003 46. Should land on Monday. Had to wait for some stuff to come in. I know it's tough for the receiver but I guarantee it will be worth the wait.
Figured, just now, that I would post on here as well but my package went out the other day and should be on a doorstep tomorrow! 9114 9999 4431 3152 6243 67 is the tracking for USPS.
Got mine form Nick (Kxthor911) and it's a beautiful sight. He was telling me he had sent too many last year and got heat for it so he decided to do it the other way around. I guess it's true what they say: sometimes Less is More.
Go see for yourselves.
Oh and thanks Saint Nick.
Got in yesterday and found mine. Thanx a bunch Jared A.K>a The Burn Ward. Very well done.
