Title: Virtual Humidor Math
Post by: clami on 12/23/2014 02:41 PM
I have two virtual humidors - one with 39, one with 296 - which should add up to 335.  When I look at the total inventory (on both the site and the android app) it lists 339.  Did I miss a step putting some of my cigars into inventory?

Thanks

It also counts previous smokes, have you moved any there?

I'm a bit confused

"There are 335 cigars in the Current Inventory."<<<<< copied from your humidor

Now you have me curious, my total cigar count is 248 but the virtual humidor says 384

Weird.  I just moved some between my humidors, and the count changed correctly in each, but the total still does not add up.  Maybe a bug??

We use the metric system in the humidors to accommodate our international members.

My wife must have gotten into mine because it says "There are too many cigars in the current inventory"

I snuck into the secret room SenorPablo has where the official virtual humidor cigar counters sit and double check all the counts in our humis,  this is what i overheard

Costello: Well, then who's playing first?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: I mean the fellow's name on first base.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The fellow playin' first base.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy on first base.

Abbott: Who is on first.

Costello: Well, what are you askin' me for?

Abbott: I'm not asking you--I'm telling you. Who is on first.

Costello: I'm asking you--who's on first?

Abbott: That's the man's name.

Costello: That's who's name?

Abbott: Yes.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Costello: When you pay off the first baseman every month, who gets the money?

Abbott: Every dollar of it. And why not, the man's entitled to it.

Clay, I have seen this happen to myself.  What probably is happening, is you have put a cigar in your VH either by the site or by the app or both.  Your app most likely doesn't have an updated cigar database and it throws the counts off.  Try updating your cigar database on your app and then resync your app humidor.  This problem should go away and correct itself.

Thanks, but I think ninfiction is closer to the real cause of the problem.  I will try to re-sync.  Maybe we could create a wife mode that only adds up every fourth cigar to the total??  Or keeps cigar totals less than her shoe totals.
