Post by: Jackal on 03/03/2015 09:09 AM
It is time for Cigar Geeks to pick its #1 cigar for 2015.

We have been doing this yearly for the last 5 years.  Here are our previous winners.

2014   Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 Broadleaf
2013   Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 4
2012   Arturo Fuente Anejo Reserva Shark No. 77
2011   Partagas (Cuban) Série D No. 4
2010   Partagas (Cuban) Série D No. 4

This is a preliminary round to determine which cigars will be competing in the first round against the top four cigars this year.  The four highest vote getters will have a shot in this year's tournament.

Voting will continue until Friday at midnight, and then the official  playoffs will begin on Monday the 9th.  Good luck to all cigars.

About time you got this going again - snub me last year, but I plan on making it to the final dance this year!

If those wildcard sticks are any indication, this will be a cake walk this year!

Hey Jackal, you have me in the line up this year, right?  OK with me if you give me a bye until the Final Four.

Since wildcards are handled differently in various sports/ countries, I am renaming this a qualifier round.  No, the top four don't get a bye to the end.

Three of these look like they will be advancing so far.

Still another day to vote before we close it out and the Padron Serie 1926 No. 2 gets a bye in the first round.

Looks like things have changed last night and unless something drastic happens with the voting, none of the top four are getting a bye.  Nicely done, and sorry to the Tatuaje Fausto who gets no love in this competition.

All that I can say is to get more reviews in and encourage others to do the same.

The cigars selected are the top rated ones that have 5+ reviews in our system.
