My humidor is about 7yrs old and is what I believe to be a 50-75 count humidor.. Currently I have about 57 sticks in there and they seem to be kinda dry..
I use two 69% RH Boveda packs and have a digital hygrometer.. After setting and testing the hygrometer it only reads between 62 / 66 RH...
Do I need a new humidor? Do I have to scrap the Boveda packs for something else? (I'd hate to do that coz I lust bought 24pks that were on sale from CI)
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

IMHO the only way a humidor is dead is if you put flavored infused sticks inside or if the seal is broken somehow. Make sure Hyrgo is calibrated properly and make sure the seal is good.
Boveda packs may be re-hydrated easily by soaking or just placing in seal bag with moisture. The humidor may have a bad seal if it was working well before and no longer keeps proper RH. Check the seal by putting a light inside (like a bright flashlight) or use a piece of paper and close the lid on it and see if it can be removed easily by sliding it out. Dropping the lid when open a couple inches it should not slam but, close slow and force the air out. This could all be due to dramatic RH change in your home as well....66% isn't bad at all!
Also, I think according to Boveda's website you should use more than 2 packs in your humidor, they state 2-4+. I read someplace you want 1 for the humidor and 1 for every 25 cigars. I would toss a couple more Boveda packs in and see how that works...there is no such thing as too many, they won't go over the stated % and the more you have the less they have to work/should last longer.
I have to agree with Brian I don't thing you have enough boveda paks.You can't use to many.The more you use the longer they last and you can rehydrate them

She's now my exwife and this is what she did when I was on a business trip and came back home to see the ruins. I got even with her....when she went to work the next day me and my razor knife had a party with her clothes in the closet...made discreet cuts in her pants in the rear....cuts in the sleeves on the shoulders in the back.....rolled some Heet Linament inside her panties and for the creme de la creme I cut through all of her heels on her shoes about half way....silent message saying...Don't Eff with my cigars. She filed for divorce a week later....what a shame!

Thanks for the info guys,I did the paper test and it was good and tight..
I'll toss in another Boveda pack tonight and see how that works..

Fish, as was mentioned earlier, 62-66% RH is just fine. In fact, I believe that is a better storage environment than 69%.

Only the brown Boveda packs can be soaked - you will ruin the white ones - FYI.

Well that's good news! It's just that they felt kinda dry.... I'm going to re calibrate the hygrometer just in case...
