So it is Memorial Day weekend here in the States and it's a time to honor our Veterans that have given up their lives for us. Even though I was not born before my Great Uncle was K.I.A in Vietnam I still plan on having a good drink and a nice Cigar or 2 ( Thinking Cohiba (Cuban) Maduro 5 Genios &
Drew Estate Undercrown Flying Pig (XLR) ) in his honor and honor of our Vets.
Here is the virtual wall for my Uncle if anyone wants to look as it. If anyone wants to share stuff like this for their loved ones please feel free. http://www.virtualwall.org/dt/TruettQH01a.htm
P.S The picture is the only one of him I have with him and my Grandma in it.
I plan on enjoying a few cigars this weekend. My special Memorial Day cigar will be a Camacho Liberty 2010, whilst thinking of both my grandpas, who proudly served in the US Navy. And, to thank those who gave their all so that we may all enjoy this wonderful thing called life.

Great Cigar choice. It's great Americans like your Grandfathers that made this country so great.
My father was a WWII vet, his cigar of choice was awake a Baccarat. I'm not sure I have any so a trip to the smoke shop might be in order.
I was thinking and it is hard to believe he's been gone ten years. We are losing the "greatest generation" at an alarming rate.

You are correct we are losing them at a scray rate. It's cool you at least know what he enjoyed and can smoke something along those lines. My Uncle was a cigar smoker I am told but every time I ask what kind he smoked all anyone can remember is it was a "green leaf cigar"
Got an Ashton Symmetry in honor of my son in the Marine's, A Angel's Anvil in honor of my other son who just joined the Corp. this last week on delayed entry and A Padron 1926 80th in memory of the rest of the family that has served in one branch or the other.

Great choices in smokes and it seems to me you have put thought into those as well. Please tell your Sons Thank You for me.
Will do John and thanx to every one who is or has served this Great Country. You are all a blessing to our Nation.
I always like to smoke a Camacho Liberty that I buy off of Kevin each year here. Seems fitting to me. I usually smoke the previous years release and so on.
Whatever cigar I select, I will take the time to salute those who lost their lives defending our great nation and the very reason for Memorial Day. Old Glory is at half staff paying respect to our warriors and their selfless service. God bless all of them

Don I don't think anyone could have summed it up better than that. :usa:

I have yet to try one of those but I see your point and a very good choice for the day for sure. :usa:

Good suggestion!
Leaf & Been by Oscar Madure done and a couple of really nice ones for tonights herf
I think this evening smoke will be one from the first "real" box purchase I made about a year ago.
A Man O' War original blend toro, I had smoked one when I first really got into cigars and decided that it was boxworthy. This will be the first one out of that box, to celebrate the lost Men & Women O' War.
Not a pricey or fancy smoke just great enjoyable cigar.
will find a special smoke for today, most likely a Headley Grange Estupendo...to all a good day of remembrance...
(not my truck but one can dream!)
so far, a Diesel Oval Perfecto. Probably a couple of others before the day is done.
Will remember the
father who was a Korean War Era Veteran.
Had a CAO America Bottlerocket earlier today, seemed fitting
that is very fitting
