The Cigar: Pinar del Rio Liga Especial Reserva Superior Salomon (6x66)
The Hype: The Pinar Del Rio Liga Especial Reserva Superior is one of the latest blends in Abe Flores's expanding cigar portfolio. Released at the IPCPR in 2011, this all Ligero blend is somewhat limited with only around 600 boxes being produced. The Reserva Superior has an oily, dark Dominican Habano wrapper, Brazilian and Nicaraguan binders, and an all-ligero mix of filler tobaccos from Estelí, Jalapa, and the Dominican Republic.
The Liga Especial Reserva Superior is finished with a closed foot. This medium to full-bodied creation from PDR has bold, rich flavors of cocoa and espresso sweetness with a nice dose of peppery spice. The cigar's dynamic profile also shows off a bit of leathery, creamy flavor with a very long and satisfying finish. Overall, the PDR Liga Especial Reserva Superior is a solid blend by Pinar Del Rio and possibly one of their strongest. Despite the cigar's strength, the blend is very complex and smooth at the same time. If you like rich, creamy cigars with some body on them, I would definitely recommend this stogie.

There is a format used when reviewing, but really, the gist of it is this...smoke it, tell us what ya thought of it...BAM! :biggrin: :shy:
I have never done one of these but I will give it a shot if you need to fill a spot. I promise to try and not FUBAR the review to bad. If a more seasoned geek would like to do it please feel free to bump me for them so the best reviewers possible get chosen.

I just got my package today! The package and contents were in great shape. I was SO surprised by the additional cigars that were in the box! Wow! I don't hardly know what to say! Thank you! So I feel bad about my review of this cigar, I really do.Now that the reviews are up you can see mine was not good. Please take into consideration That Im positive this was a dud stick. Specially now that I see some other reviews. Dud sticks happen unfortunately even with super premium sticks. I just dont want anyone to think Im super critical or anything like that, I give alot of cigars great reviews. I so wanted to like this one too. It just such a fantastic looking cigar.
But anyway the whole experience for me was great. I really liked doing the review and hopefully can do some more. Bmac was very generous in what he sent out (specially that prohibition). So thanx again brian for selecting me and letting me review this cigar.

I think mine was a dud also and major draw issues. Please everyone remember this was my first critique also.

It is great to read the other reviews. Comparing others' experiences as they interacted with the cigar shows how people have different likes and dislikes, and different sensory perceptions, too.

Wow, the opinions are all over the place. That is very interesting. I guess that shows the vast range of tastes cigar smokers have.
