Yeah, not sure why Brian. When I was new I felt like I needed to earn some stripes around here and figure out how to smoke a cigar before jumping into this, but heck I'd do one of month if it were possible now... :-)

I'd reckon to say that ya might want to get a bit more involved here as well, along with making amends to some of the CG vets that were, let's say, a bit perturbed by some previous posts regarding legal opinions on a forbidden fruit discussion...if this has already happened unbeknownst to me, I apologize in advance...if not, its just my friendly CG suggestion... :biggrin: :angel:

Still nothing here, good ol' USPS. I have another package from New Orleans that was supposed to arrive last Friday and the tracker says that it has left New Orleans as of 1/26. Pretty sure these are the guys routing the packages lately:

Gary, I don't know what is going on with yours. I went and dug up the tracking on these, it has been sitting there since the 28th.

I saw something similar with a package from Trent just this last week, it arrived a good 4 or 5 days late...but his did say it departed from the New Orleans P.O., this one is as if it is still camped in Atlanta? It may still show up on time to smoke I suppose if maybe it's actually en route just not being tracked right. Your/Pete's call on what to do. Happy to send one of the packages back to you if you do send out a 2nd one. For what it's worth I had planned to smoke it on the 9th anyway, so it hasn't messed me up yet, it'll just have to be ROTT.

Might I suggest you call the post office if you haven't already? A good friend of mine ordered something online and according to the tracking number it just stopped along the way and sat in a post office for 2 weeks. When he finally called them it suddenly showed up a day or two later. We think it got left in some corner of some sorting room by mistake. I don't really know the inter working of the postal service, maybe Don could shed some light if he's following this thread.

Last time, the answer to this question was "just pick anything", and the GC sponsor will recognize your name and just change it to the correct cigar when the time is right.
That was a good question, would've thrown me off. I think I'll just try and guess what it is and see how close I am...that is if I ever get it! :rolleyes:

I see "My Geek Critiques", with the link to the one that I completed in December, but nothing else (no option to add a new one). Then below it I see the "Geek Critiques" box with a drop-down menu for cigars, but that is for a list of Geek Critiques already submitted. I've scrolled past all the past submissions, and cannot for the life of me find a place to submit a new one.
When I follow your link it takes me to a screen that shows my Critiques, at the top of the page is a link in a box of text.

Very interesting critique. Mystery, and all scores fall within an 8 point spread! :cool:
It's always fun to see what the others thought. Not much in our database so I went back and looked at CI reviews for the heck of it and one guy had the same experience I did (lots of relights needed), so maybe there's a consistency issue on this cigar. Hoping the other one Michael sent is a good one, looking forward to finding out. :dancing:
And I learned something about what Daniel does and does not like in a cigar...stowing those nuggets away for later :biggrin:
Good reviews guys, seems like most enjoyed. I hope the second one smokes better Gary, USPS kinda got us on that one. I enjoy them, thought they would be something different for the critique.
Even with the trouble I had I saw a lot of enjoyment potential there, it started off very well, those initial flavors were all up my alley. Thanks again Michael, it's always fun to do these. :bigthumbs:
Yes, thanks again Michael! I will reiterate that pretty much everything was close to exceptional on this stick other than the core flavors being out of my sweet spot. Definitely opened my eyes to something new.
It was not what I thought it was, but, I really enjoyed it. I had a touch of allergies going on when I smoked it, so I am sure I missed some nuances in the profile. Other than the beginning, it was a great cigar. I'd smoke another for sure. Thanks Michael! :biggrin: :bigthumbs:
