Title: Antique Icebox
Post by: Dantero on 01/17/2016 07:42 AM
Have used this for about 6 years now. Keeps humidity at 67 to 70 consistently.  Going to do an overhaul on it this spring.   I hadn't seen one on this thread so I thought I would share .

Dan, we are here to help if you need anything, we are having a little fun is all.

But you have to agree with me that it is a bit ironic that your e-mail domain actually is @imageworksok.com  :dancing:

The picture HAS to be less than 100K in file size. There is an article here on CG about it, check it out, don't discourage yourself now:

Hey, I would love to see your ice box! I have one that I'm thinking of using as a humidor ... When my collection grows enough to need it.

Thank you! It has a lot of family meaning and you wouldn't believe the shape it was in before restoration...it was awful.  I think it will be a great humidor some day! I just don't need one that big....yet!

That's neat looking! I'd recommend converting it now. You can never be too prepared for anything! :D

All joking aside... a vintage icebox would make an excellent looking Humidor! Great Idea.... now to start looking for one...

Dan, you can use an image hosting site to inseet your pics but an easy way is from your computer. Open the file in paint, resize so it's not huge and save as a jpg. Check the properties and make sure it's under 100 kb.  When posting, don't just type in the box below, click the "reply" button and then you will see an add picture after post option.

I've always wanted to do an old oak ice box as a humidor, I just can never find one that I want to buy. Everyone wants so damn much for them, or they have been sitting outside in the barn for 100 years and the termites have had their way with it.
