I love small cigars, they're perfect for shorter windows of time or as a warm-up or nightcap. As far as I can tell, there has been little love for the "little guys" in passes in the last couple of years, so I aim to change that. Things have also been a little slow around here lately, so let's get some more swapping in!
The aim of this pass is to deliver some high-quality small cigars, some of them favorites of mine, into the hands of Geeks to be tried out, and for you to share your favorite smalls with others.
SIZE RESTRICTIONS: No cigars over 5" in length. No ring gauge restrictions (but no cigarillos, please). The intent of this pass is to focus on petit coronas, petit robustos, and small figurados. Note that standard robustos DO fit the criteria of this pass (and I have included a couple in the seed list), but I prefer to see only a handful of them in the pass. Therefore, I would like to limit the number of standard robustos in this pass to 5, maximum, at any given time.
CI and Famous pricing, or nearest equivalent that can be found. Standard CG cigar pass rules apply. If you cannot replace ISOM with ISOM or direct price for price, please message the mod for P/T approval. Regular status required for enrollment, unless you have a senior Geek vouching for you. Canadian/International Geeks are welcome to participate virtually near the end of the pass - I am always international friendly!
I will be posting the seed list and sending a few invites shortly. Please feel free to hit me up via PM or here with questions.
I am with you on the little cigars - Love them!! I'm in for a pass.

Huh. Had that sitting alongside the robustos and it looked no longer. Not sure if I have a CC to replace it with, but I'll check.
We haven't even started and I'm breaking my own rules.
Maybe I shouldn't have requested to join since I didn't get an invite, too late now...
thanks for having me Dan
I'll play if you'll have me...
I switched up the description to extend length to 5.25", since that will allow a few funky-sized petit coronas, but not allow gran robustos. It would allow something like the Fuente Don Carlos Eye of the Shark, but I always thought that was a fat little stick.
Everyone's in so far and that makes 7. This will probably be open for a little while, as I'd like to have 10 to get things cooking.
Thanks for having me.Looking foreword to it. :dancing:

I'm pleased to institute the first ever Cigar Geeks "cigar pass sampling policy", wherein the Geek whose turn it is in the pass is allowed to sample up to three sticks by smoking a maximum of 1/2" of his or her chosen cigar(s). A cigar may not be sampled past half off its original overall length AFTER you snip off the bit that you "lipped".

Come on Geeks, could use one or two more. Don't make me start spinning the wheel on the member's list!
Winter is coming up, things are slowing down for me, seems like a good time to jump in on a pass if you will have me.
Absolutely, glad to have you sir.
I definitely want in. With going to school and having 6 kids and hopefully starting a job soon, longer cigars are out. Need those shorter smokes!

Cool, glad to have you Chris!
I have also accepted a request from Art to join. I swear he was in another pass at some point, but I can't find him in any of the likely passes or see any feedback on his profile for them. Am I just confused? :?:
Art, I'll put you early in the pass order and we'll make sure you know when the box is headed to you so that there's no confusion.
This puts us up to 12 participants, which is enough to get us rolling. I will keep this open until Friday, 8/19 or so, for anyone that has not yet joined, and for me to finish getting my ducks in a row.

I hope to get this out by this weekend and will sort out pass order in the next day or so. Last call for invitations!
Killer lineup of geeks on this one, should be a good one! :dancing:
Work and nonprofit are steamrolling me this week. I will not get this rolling until early next. Sorry for the delay, fellas.
I am ready to send this out and am closing up on join requests. Thus far, I have had the following feedback pertaining to schedules:
Gustoff - available after 9/15
Cfickter - unavailable 9/20 - 9/30
Please let me know if you need any accommodations.
I am arranging the pass order appropriately. We'll start in CA and finish off with a virtual turn for Stephen!
My current pass order is an attempt to accommodate both of the above requests. We'll go from CA to PA, and back down to TX and through the south to try and hit Chuck before 9/20 and Justin after 9/15.
Jason, are you all right with taking first turn and receiving this late this week? I am anticipating getting this out via Priority Mail tomorrow.
Works for me. Thanks for having me in this one.
Thank YOU. Box is headed for Anaheim, USPS Priority 9505 5161 7232 6236 0264 29
Estimated delivery Thursday.
In all the hoopla of the last few days, I left the envelope with the print-out of pass rules and my pass "secret" on the counter. I am going to twist the secret slightly and implement it in the pass rules, allowing those who wish to participate to do so digitally. As always, partaking in the "secret" element of my passes is non-mandatory and completely pride- or shame-free for any who engage or prefer not to. :-)

Nah, I don't think it's necessary, and I'd like this to get to Chuck in good time. I updated the pass description with the secret, and it will probably work just as smoothly as including it in the pass box.
SO, Little Treasure-rs, check the description for the notes, and please enjoy your takes!
Nice secret. I wonder what Daniel is going to do with that list?
Nice touch Daniel
Pass arrived today. Will open it up Sunday and try and get it on the road Monday.
Thanks Jason. I've always thought those little Cult Blood Red Moon mini perfectos looked interesting.
They are cheap, and I really like them. Threw one in as an extra so someone can experience it. I will toss in one more in a bag reserved for you.
Oh, that's very kind of you, thank you!
On its way to Pasadena.

Thanks Jason, great start!

Glad to see that you nabbed that Animal Cracker and the LAdC EE, Gary. I was thinking those two might be particularly up your alley! :dancing:
Please note that I'm sending individuals a reminder about the pass secret as they take their turn in the pass. I'm just copy/pasting the description of the secret for convenience, and if you choose to participate, you can just respond to that message. No sweat if you forget or don't care to.

I got the box yesterday. Haven't gone through my stash yet to see what to replace with.

Puts and takes are updated. Won't be able to get this out until Sat. Thanks for another great pass!
Chris, did this get in the mail on Saturday?
Has anyone heard from Chris? I have sent him a PM.
Sorry guys, I haven't really had access to a computer for a few days. ( Busy with work and school stuff). But I did drop it off at a mail center. Not sure why it hasn't been updated yet.
I'm ready for it when it arrives.
Arrived today. I haven't had time to open it up, but the packaging seems fine. I'll try and get this one turned around ASAP.
