For those of you who didn't see the other thread ( http://www.cigargeeks.com/index.php?topic=46702.0 ) I figured this kind of newb bombing definitely deserved it's own post!
I had recently discovered the Camacho Liberty 2005 box/coffins and thought they were the coolest looking things ever. I am a veteran and love patriotic themed memorabilia, so had posted asking if any geeks knew of how to get ahold of them. Turns out, it is pretty much a lost cause, and probably wouldn't work well for storage, etc. But then Brad chimed in that he had a couple empty coffins laying around he could send me. Being the newb I am, I asked him to tell me how much shipping was so I could send him the money. Then this happened:

Love the note, saying he "may have forgotten" to take one of the cigars out of the coffin first! Un.freakin.real! When I told my son one of 2005 Liberty coffins had the cigar in it (I had shown him how cool they were when I started the other thread and was looking for the box/coffins), he said "you probably won't even want to smoke that one will you"? Ummm... I'm going to smoke the heck out of that beauty! I'm definitely not one of those people who buys a classic car just to look at it. I'd drive it like I stole it! I've already got the date picked out. I always take Veterans day off and just enjoy myself. Nothing special, but usually just a day of video games or relaxing by the grill. This year, I will have something else to look forward to! Oh, and a couple other "yard gars" to keep me busy in the meantime. (If these are yard gars, I'd hate for you to see my "special occasion" cigars!) I'm literally drooling over every one of these bad boys.
You certainly bombed the heck out of me because I am absolutely blown away! I will get you back one day, when you least expect it. No way will I be able to match this level of bombing, but I know that's not the point of these anyway and I will hit you back as hard as I can, brother!
Great bomb and thank you for your service!
Very Nice :bigthumbs:

Couldn't agree with you more! :thanx: :smoker:
Nice job Brad. Class act.
So question... how long before I can smoke something I receive in a bomb? I know you are supposed to let sticks "rest" after being sent through the mail. But I also have heard some of the whole "resting after mailing" is because how online retailers store, etc. So is there a "general rule" to how long you should let something rest in your humi after you receive it from another geek before you can smoke it? I'm not only excited about the Liberty (which is waiting til Veterans Day), and the Davidoff and EP Carrillo, but I'm pretty excited about trying the Xiphos with it being Brad's brand. Just don't want to ruin the experience since I know it's not something I can easily pick up at a local B&M for example. So when can I smoke it?!?!?!
I say - once they are yours - do with them what you wish..............................I'm thinking maybe you should light up a 5'er all at one time and send us a pic.........then maybe fire up 20 or so and line your driveway like Christmas Candle Bags.
BUT - whateva' you decide to do ------Enjoy the BURN.
LMAO

LMAO! Sounds like a plan! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Yeah, I am not one for saving cigars forever. I thought about lighting up one of those Xiphos the day I got them. I just have heard that the heat from sending them through the mail can take at least a few days to rest to reduce risk of cracking or bitterness. Thought it was like a week or something? But OMG! JUST realized it has only been one day since I got them! Feels like I have already been waiting an eternity! I may just save them til next weekend when I'm making a trip down to my parents to buy and install a new oven for mother's day and paint their front porch. Then its relaxing buy their pool with a few of these nice smokes!
:bigthumbs:
Jeff, glad you're excited about the cigars. They didn't travel for a long time so I would say they are safe to smoke whenever since they were sealed well. Enjoy~! :smoker:

"Excited" is an understatement! :dancing: Thanks again! Looking forward to enjoying one of them tonight :smoker:
Top notch move by a top notch geek, way to go brother Brad! :bigthumbs:
Smoked the Xiphos MR Maduro tonight while on the google herf. Really enjoyed it. Gotta say, it was one of the best smelling cigars I've come across before lighting it. Almost didn't want to put a flame to it, lol.
