I've run this at various points the last 2 years and figured it's time to do it again.
Here's the deal, smoke a cigar that another Geek(member of this forum) has given you (via bomb, trade, contest winnings, whatever), complete a review for the cigar, post here with the cigar name and the Geek's name that gave it to you and you're entered. Easy right? Yep, that's it. Smoke, type, win cigars.
The nitty gritty:
1) This contest will run for a month: Saturday April 28th thru Monday May 28th (Midnight Central Standard Time...or around there)
2) You must be of veteran status by the end of the contest, I assume if you've been here long enough to have received cigars from another geek you'll have your 60 days in without issue by May...and if you don't have 100 posts, get to it.
3) The Geek that provided the cigar must be a member of Cigar Geeks.
4) You must complete a review for said cigar in the database.
5) You must post in this thread by the deadline which cigar you reviewed and who gave it to you, minimum....if you want to acknowledge your undying love for said Geek, that's your choice.
6) Multiple cigars may be smoked and reviewed, limit of 5...but smoke em anyway, someone gave them to you for that purpose.
7) Random generator will be used to determine the winner, each cigar reviewed and posted in this thread is worth 1 entry, you may enter up to 5.
The winner will receive a handsome fiver from me...one of which will be a 2016 Opus X 20 Years Celebration Power of the Dream ...and probably 4 dog rockets.
*I reserve the right to modify the rules of this contest at any time and my say is final.
**No purchase required, alternate entry may be made by sending a postcard(to my mailbox), arriving no later than the contest deadline.
Any questions? No? Good, go forth and smoke those gifted cigars!

wrapper medium brown with slight variations in color. I have smoked several of these and always enjoy them. Notes of leather and some spices. Draw was spot on with zero soft spots. only problem encountered was a slight wrapper crack when I removed the band but didn't cause much of a problem as I was still able to smoke it to the nub. Not a fantastic cigar but definitely worth a shot. I smoke a few of these a year.
Thanks to Bruce for sending me another of these since his wife doesn't like the smell of this cigar. :-)
Got you, thanks Kent!

Another quality Perdomo cigar, I am a fan of quite a few and this is no exception. Medium Brown wrapper with a HUGE band covering most of the cigar that once removed shows a great looking roll. Takes a straight cut great and draw is spot on as most Perdomos for me. Paired this on with a tasty IPA and it didn't disappoint, oak, leather, spice and tobacco are what I get out of the cigar. Starts out medium and quickly moves to medium/full within the first inch or so. Pick one up and give it a shot.
Thanks to Brian (ninfiction) for this smoke.
Got you down again Kent.

Awesome. Enjoyed reading all the reviews last year. Thanks for the contest!
I reviewed a Romeo y Julieta 1875 Cedros Deluxe No. 2 from a long last brother Rbrushaber. He hasn't logged on since 2015, so that tells you how long ago he put this one in a pass I think. Wherever you are Roger, I appreciate the smoke.
Got you Michael, thanks for taking the time!
This needs more action...
Liga Privada #9 Belicoso that I got from Gary Ducan in a great deal.Review is up.I have to give Kent a little competition.

Alright guys this is done. I'll do the whole random number thing tonight when I get home from work and get some cigars shipped out tomorrow to the winner.
Thanks to those that participated and good luck!
Received one slightly delayed entry via the USPS this afternoon. Since yesterday had no mail service and I haven't selected a winner yet Kent will get an entry for this postcard he sent me from his trip last week. Very cool!
The post office can't even get a postcard from point A to point B without fcking it up though....sad
And the winner is silverstix - Tom! Congrats Tom, I'll get your fiver in the mail tomorrow.
The winner was selected via random number on Random.org. I randomly assigned numbers to each person's entry via Excel and Random.org selected the winning number.
Holy moly!!! Wow I never win stuff like this, or anything really haha, thanks Brian!!
This was a really cool idea. I've had the pleasure of interacting with some really generous people, it would be great if some of you guys lived in the NYC area to meet up for a smoke
