Nevermind on this. I just saw that they're going to charge me the absurd California tobacco tax, about a 50% bump, I think because I live in the state and they're based in the state as well. Plus the stupid code wasn't working. Looks like I'm done buying cigars from Small Batch. :nono:
Yeah the nanny state tax is absurd..even with the discount you get screwed.

I ran into the same thing a while back. I ordered a box of cigars for me, and a box for a friend. When I got to the final checkout page I thought I had accidentally ordered three boxes. I emptied my cart, added the boxes again, and same total. That's when I noticed the tax, and after contacting them the owner explained that he was in California and so was I, so the tax was added. It was crazy. He was very apologetic, and friendly, but there was nothing he could do. So I don't order from them anymore.
Unfortunately that is the law. Same thing happens to me here in NY. There are a couple of great vendors based in NY that I used to buy from on-line, but I can't afford them when they add the state taxes.
This is why I can't buy cigars in Canada.The taxes are crazy. :-(

and tha's why we all need to stock up. our days are numbered. legislation is coming soon i fear to end the party. i don't mind paying my fair share but these folks are nuts! the left coast and NY madness is spreading....

My wife thought I was nuts and I probably am but I stocked up on over 6,000 cigars because of this problem I'm in PA LMK if anyone needs something taxes aren't that bad but everything has shipping charges the more the merrier. Always looking for a deal this s**t is coming just a matter of when. PM me but the more brothers to buy in the better. iv'e been doing deals with Gary for some time now and I will help all brothers.
