Title: What's your oldest?
Post by: ntanner on 01/15/2019 02:43 PM
So I have been digging down in my humidor and smoking some of my older stuff, revisiting some I haven't smoked in years and trying some new ones that I just never got around to smoking until now and as I was looking at this yellowed cello on a 7 year old cigar it got me to wondering what the oldest cigar in everyone else's humidor is. Mine is 2765 days or 7.5 years on a Padilla 68 robusto. I'm sure some of you have much older stuff and some not. What is you're oldest smoke?

Boli CG from 2007 and a box of Sir Winnies from 2010 are the ones that come to mind. Might have some stuff older, but they are just singles.

I have some old Montecristo Club Cabinet No. 30 over 10 years old, only a couple left, and a Gurkha Beast that is 4032 days old that I just never smoked.

Also have a couple San Cristobal de la Habana El Morro that have a 2002 box code.  I didn't have them since then, but they are old.  I've had them about 4 years.

Several single and left overs from boxes somewhere deep in the depths that are at least 9-10 years old.

I have a AVO TAA 2013 Movement I received as part of a bomb from Mautrak. He estimated it had 3-4 years on it and I've had it for 152 days.

Did you ever have more than one?  Smoked one?  When do you plan on smoking this one?  40 years is up there...

Just have the 1. Got it in a trade a few years ago. I should probably smoke it but it's kind of cool just to have. It feels like it's always been taken care of, it's not dried out or brittle.

I have a partial box of a CAO 65th Anniversary, which were a 2002 release.  I have Camacho Liberties from 2004 to 2009.   Also an Opus X from 2006.  Those are my oldest at the moment.

Here's a link to some cigar porn, my box of CAO 65th cigars.

I've got two sets of the Erte 7 Deadly Sins cigars that were rolled in 1996.  I picked them up from Famous a few years ago.  I've also got this pack of Bering Plazas that were purchased right before a regional retail chain, Pic N' Save, shut down their stores.  These were purchased by a friend at a Pic N' Save in Gainesville, FL.  As a former employee of the company, the price tag tells me they hit the store in March of 1996.  All the store were closed later that year.

I was often in that store between 1970 - 1980. Corner of Newberry and 62nd.

A buddy bought them when he was going to UF.  I worked in three of the Jacksonville stores briefly before I worked for the warehouse/merchandising part of the company.

Sadly, I only have two left.   I gave a few away, but have enjoyed smoking the others on rare occasions
