What is the model of cable modem they are using? There should be an RG45 Ethernet cable that is currently running to the computer or switch from the cable modem. The WRT3200ACM has one internet port that should be connected to the cable modem ethernet output. That should be about all that is needed but if not then you would need to get to the WRT3200ACM admin console to do some settings. This is usually accessible via a web browser or phone app with the linksys products. Open a browser to 192.168.1.1 and login with username admin and password admin. If you get to this point and need more assistance let me know.
Okay I'm editing my post I looked up the modem and instruction https://hellotds.com/support/internet/modem-self-install-tds-provided-modem.html. They has 4 ethernet ports on the back of the cable modem. Just connect one of those to the internet port on the WRT3200ACM. That should be about all you need to do but if not you can assess the cable modem configuration on 192.168.0.1.
Good Luck,
Ron

Just a question, did you call the cable company and register the new modems mac? Otherwise it cannot be provisioned and it will not work.

I just reread what you wrote and it sounds like you unhooked the cable modem? And tried to do.just coax to ethernet adapter? You have to have a cable modem to ethernet. Is there a reason you took the cable modem out of the equation? Why didn't you just take the ethernet and plug it into the linksys?

Typically I see traffic and then I call - I was just shocked to not see anything at all, even through the MoCA.Quotearrow34 - 11/9/2020 6:20 PM

The cable modem was taken out of the equation to stop rent. There is no ethernet plug on the cable modem - just a coaxial input and nothing out.
I see, why would they manufacture a cable modem without an Ethernet port. I guess I just like wires. So you can get something like this ARRIS (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/arris-surfboard-32-x-8-docsis-3-0-cable-modem-white/4600801.p?skuId=4600801&ref=212&loc=1&ref=212&loc=1&ds_rl=1268652&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3NyAy7757AIVRtyGCh2Q1QX_EAQYAiABEgKizPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds)then return the rental. I have one of these and it works well. I didn't check if the provider will allow it or not.
