Title: What;s in your mailbox?
Post by: tfkirk on 09/27/2021 05:05 PM
Haven't seen this post in a while so let's see what everyone is getting.

My only problem is I just can't post pictures because I'm as dumb as a rock with the computer. I ask the Admin's if someone else could post the pics and there was no response. I asked because of the monthly point system. I'm not complaining just can't show what I'm smoking or purchasing. I know their are 4 or 5 Geeks that I split and or purchase from so I'm legit with everything. Here's what arrived via mail Friday from the West coast:

Split with a couple of Geeks:

5 - Black Label Trading Company Deliverance Porcelain Corona Gorda (5.5 x 48, NIC)
5 - Crowned Heads Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2021 LC48 (6 x 48, NIC)
5 - Crowned Heads TAA 2021 The Lost Angel (6 x 52, NIC)

Blackbird Cigar Co. Minnesota Fats (Privada CC Exclusive) (4.5 x 58, DR)

That one was a monthly selection from PCC last month and the blend notes that came with it say it has Cuban tobacco in it.  Don't know how that's possible, but that's the claim...  :?:

I did see the write up on the paperwork they send with their cigars, I get my COTM really late in the month from Privada, this is the Sept. offering (I do believe).

Wrapper: Cubra Brazil
Binder: Indonesian
Fillers: Pennsylvania Ligero, Corojo Viso, Cuban Criollo 98 Viso & Cuban Criollo 98 Seco

I do believe the Cuban Criollo 98 Viso & Cuban Criollo 98 Seco are cuban seeds grown in different countries soil

From https://wholeleaftobacco.com/product/criollo-98-seco/

Criollo 98 Seco: This earthy tobacco leaf can serve as your primary cigar filler by itself, or it can be fortified with a portion of any of our viso or ligero offerings.  Grown in the Dominican Republic in 2015.  This tobacco burns well and has a medium brown color.

FWIW, I emailed Brian and asked if "Cuban" in the notes was a typo and he replied and said it wasn't and then hinted an explanation would be coming soon.  In my experience, "Habano" is used to describe Cuban-seed tobacco and "Cuban" means exactly that.  But we shall see....

So been on a small tear recently...culminating with this week with 2 bids remaining...

Started with
Box (20) of La Palina Maduro Gordo
5 pack of the Tabak Especial Negra (Belicoso)
10 pack of the Romon Bueso Genesis Oscuro (Toro)
100 pack of the Taback Frenchies (cigarillos for a quickie...lol)

then went smaller with a 10pk of Alec Bradley Caribbean Cask (Toro)

Then went with a bunch of lighters (because my wife always steals mine)
Couple of the Simple Vertigo Cyclones
A Lotus Pipe Lighter (really like this)
A single Flame Jetline for the wife
couple big cans of Xikar Butane (has always worked he best for me
But didn't forget the cigars...
10 pk of Punch Gran Puro Nicaragua (Robusto)
5 pack of Punch Estate  (Short Robusto)
10 pack of Alec Bradley Superstition #13

Continued not much later with a box (20) of the Alec Bradley Puck (Toro)

And this week...
a 10 pack of La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor Reserva Maximo (robusto)
a 10 pack of CI Legends Black by Drew Estate Lonsdale
and hopefully
Box(20) Gilberto Oliva Reserva Noir (Robusto)
Box(25) Punch Gran Reserva Santa Rita (Robusto)

I have had a devil of a time getting my hands on the CI Legends Black, The Puck, and the Gilberto Oliva....So doing whatever I can this week...because it will be the last purchase for a while...lol  The wife is starting to give me the eye...LOL

Ahhhhhhhhh  someone just doubled the bid on the Santa Rita's....still a good buy...so trying to decide if I still want to go after them....I see a possibility with the Padilla Artemis...so possibly a box of those instead (or maybe in addition if I decide to still go after the Santa Rita's)

Good to be back Pete...

Picked up a 10 pack of Southern Draw Cedrus lanceros.

How were they Neal? Always liked the Southern Draw blends. Lancero's can be difficult sometimes, but can be a very tasty size.
