Title: New House = New Humidor
Post by: Otter on 03/03/2022 02:15 PM
I splurged and bought one of the Newair 1,500 count Humidors. I knew going in that it wouldn't hold 1,500 cigars the rule of thumb is to half that number. I've had it since late January. During the move, I put all of my sticks into a Yeti cooler with some Boveda packs and trusted the movers, they got here safe and sound and I loaded them into the Newair. I took these pics after loading it up - since then I've added more so I'm a little over 500 sticks in and I think it could probably hold another 100-150 or so easily.

I didn't have my first stick until yesterday and it is dialed in - I set the temp at 68 and humidity at 65. Since the humidor will heat and cool this seems to be a pretty good setting so far - time will tell!

Very curious to hear how you like this long term.  I've thought if I ever upgrade storage it's to something like this that controls temp and humidity.

Also appreciate hearing what you did to move the collection.  Contemplating a move this year and had similar thoughts about how to move them.

Very nice. I love the temp control,  nothing like taking a cool cigar out on a hot summer day.

Very nice.  I'm interested to know how many cigars you ended up being able to put in there.  I have a tower humidor that comfortably fits about 2/3 the number that is usually posted on sale sites for the humidor.  I guess you are supposed to only put unboxed coronas in a humidor to reach its max capacity number.
