COURT RULES FDA ACTED IMPROPERLY IN REGULATION OF PREMIUM CIGARS. EARLIER TODAY, A FEDERAL COURT RULED THAT THE U.S. FOOD & DRUG ADMINISTRATION’S (FDA) REGULATION OF PREMIUM CIGARS IS ARBITRARY AND CAPRICIOUS. THE RULING CAME AS PART OF THE CIGAR ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA ET AL. V. UNITED STATES FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION ET AL. LAWSUIT THAT WAS ORIGINALLY FILED IN 2016 IN THE U.S. DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA BY THREE CIGAR TRADE GROUPS: CIGAR ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA, CIGAR RIGHTS OF AMERICA AND THE PREMIUM CIGAR ASSOCIATION. Today’s ruling is the largest win for the premium cigar industry in court as the next step of the process could very well be the deregulating of premium cigars. www.halfwheel.com
Cautiously optimistic...
Glad they saw it this way. Now let's hope the common sense continues.
A step in the right direction.
I am hopeful this leads in the right direct... Michigan has put a damn tax in place that now I have to pay an excise tax at famous.... :( So sad.
Hopeful news! This saga has taken many a turn and I know it will only be 2, 6, or 10 years before the political winds push for more regulation.
As long as we don't light our sticks on the gas stove we shouldn't get arrested....
