When I got home yesterday after my fiasco at the Post Office, there was a package in my mailbox addressed to Pete c/o me. I pm'd him about it and his response was:
"Keep it for yourself Dave...it was a contest I won. Those cigars have yet to hit the market. Enjoy!!! And thanks again for helping me out this summer with storage.
Cheers, P"
A neat little Alec Bradley Star Insignia Sampler.
Very cool!
Sweet!
Awesome, some truly RARE smokes
Thats cool of Pete to do that, enjoy!
Nice.
My conundrum is thus: How can I repay Pete's generosity? He's given me far more than the mere storage of his Florida stash was worth. I have nothing in my collection that he hasn't smoked. Ideas? I can go on and on about how great a guy he is, but somehow that doesn't seem enough. I thought about sending him a midget stripper, but after meeting his better half, trust me, he has no need for such distractions. :shades:

Forget about it Dave, no need for payback, and especially no need for that midget pole-dancer. Those smokes do look good...Enjoy!
Very nice sticks there Dave, and very very generous of you too Pete.
Dave...Might I suggest that before Pete Heads back North, that there may be a BBQ in your future and perhaps y'all give those new star insignias a test run???

Not a bad idea. Pete, maybe you and yours can find lodging in my area for a night while y'all are going one direction or another and I can can throw something on the grill? We can smoke, eat and drink some cheap American beer.
Cordell may have his restaurant, but my grillin' and 'cuein' skills are a thing of legend ...
And for the record, when Pete asked if there was anyone along the I-95 corridor that could store his sticks, I volunteered. There was never any talk of payment or compensation. I was actually a little flattered that he accepted my offer, as he's a legend in his own right around here. He told me I could sample some of the cigars, but I never did. When his stash outgrew the coolidor, I re-did my frigidor and inadvertently left a 5-pack of RP 19-something or others where the puppies could get to them. I told Pete, and he told me not to worry about it, that we'd settle up later. My sons scored a couple of 5-packs and in payment for the stogies they'd smoked out of my stuff, they gave me the replacement fiver.
When Pete showed up, he was surprised at how many cigars he'd had shipped here. I offered a cooler and he said a trash bag would do just fine. Hunter was here when Pete came by and was disappointed that Pete didn't say "Eh". After Pete left we listened to some Rush, Triumph, and April Wine, and everything was good.
I think I might be drunk...
Very nice Pete! Those do look good - you'll have to let us know how they smoke. :shades:
Class act Pete. Very cool! Those should be some really interesting smokes.

Hmmmm...I do like BBQ. That could be a fun stopover on the way back
Well done Pete, well done
Very very nice.
:respekt: Very nicely done Pete!
very nice presentation! :-)
Very nice Pete! Enjoy David.
At the sake of catching some Honduran illness or Hep-C as a result of that fabric that was found in that nasty cigar; I was given 2 of those samplers. The cigars look really good, after sometime in the humi I will thoroughly enjoy them all.
Very !!!
Nice gestures on the parts of both Pete and Dave.

It is a good bunch we have! I mean, Cordell calls me from Tennessee to ask me to post messages about the passes he's got. I guess no one near him has a computer. I didn't realize Tennessee was that far behind... :-0  :lmao:
This is a great site with great people. This is as good as it gets in cyberspace!! :bigthumbs:

Those look really cool. Are they rectangular box-pressed?
Nice job, Pete. :bigthumbs:
Very nicely done! This is a great place. I rarely get to smoke with anyone so this is a great outlet to discuss and compare and of course B.S.
