Title: My Newest Humidor Acquisition
Post by: Brlesq on 04/28/2011 05:26 PM
Found a very limited edition Romeo y Julieta eight drawer humidor chest for $150 on Craigslist recently, and have been working with its former owner on getting it shipped here.

It arrived today and appears to be in really good condition. Holds 160+ plus cigars (looks like about a box per drawer).  Its 22" wide, so it fits perfectly on my 24" wide shelves. :dancing:

Now we will have to wait and see how well it holds humidity.  I'll let you know in a week or so.

Very nice Bruce!  :bigthumbs:

I just got my wine cooler(the beetle stories got the best of me) today.  I'll probably wait and post pics when I set it up completely.

Bruce, I'm drooling over that humidor !!!!!

That's the best looking humidor I've seen (without looking gaudy) lot's of large humidors are too ornate for me, that one looks awesome !

What kind of humidification are you planning on putting in it ?

Ken, you're going to be mad when I tell you this, but I got this off of a Craigslist ad in your area, not Albany.  Seller was less than an hour from you, but about 3.5 hours from me.  Nate (nwb) got me into this:  He's always scouring craigslist ads in other cities and sending me leads, but I found this one on my own.

BTW, I found a guy in nearby Connecticut claiming to offer real Cubans through craigslist, and even free samples to serious buyers!      :lmao:  :lmao:  Nate jumped on that!

Hey now, he was very nice.  He even offered to send me the special limited edition regional release of the Montecristo #8.  The deal was too good to pass up, so now I have a great looking box of Cubans - they even have a glass top box!

Seriously, I'm glad you found a great deal.  For anyone looking for a humidor, I highly recommend scouring your local Craigslist ads.  There are some fantastic deals.

UPDATE:  After 5 days of seasoning, it was holding humidity.  I was a little worried because the glass doors have some slight play to them, but the drawers also seem to act as a seal.   So I loaded it with about 150 cigars two days ago, and it has been holding a steady 65% ever since. Looks like a keeper!

Glad to hear the new humi is working.

My cabinet has some play in the glass, too, but it holds humidity somehow.
