You have two debts of $49 for a total of $98

Where is there any money missing?

The shirt is only an "asset" if it's one I'd wear!

I came up with the same conclusion.  This is one of puzzles that tries to fool your common sense.

It's definitely confusing the way it reads, but I also believe Jackal to be correct. There is no money missing.
