I'm sure this has been brought up before but it is very important to cigar smokers all across the country. The FDA is trying to limit our rights to purchase and smoke a natural, adult product. So please if you haven't already become a member of CRA. It is only $35 for the year and you get a couple of premium smokes out of the deal. They are our registered lobby in Washington. If you can't afford the $$ then at least go to http://capwiz.com/cigarrights/issues/alert/?alertid=54019671 and fill out the forms to send letters to your Congressional leaders. One of the leading things that the FDA wants to eliminate is mail-order or internet cigar purchases. If that happens you will be forced to the local shop who will also have even higher prices due to more red tape. Please help.

I have been a member for the years and encourage everyone here to join.

By the way, my representative, Garry Miller, is now a cosponser on the bill to protect cigars from FDA meddling.

I'll second that motion.  I would strongly encourage everyone to get involved with CRA.  They are THE group out there trying to head off the runaway legislation going on in our country with respect to our right to smoke cigars.  They are also doing a lot of good things to help keep the smaller cigar businesses around.

Aside from the sale and tax limitations Washington has have been trying to push, there is also legislation being proposed that will force boutique cigar manufacturers (your mom and pops) to pay very heafty fees for having the FDA "certify/approve" each blend they make for distribution.  If this passed the boutique manufacturers will be gone.

We are at a very critical point in our cigar history here in the US and we need to influence this movement as much as possible.  Make yourself be heard with your local politicians with the letters and also join CRA to help them fight our battle.

Yes, the CRA group really needs to win this since the cigar business is huge with many jobs on the line and its an erosion of personal liberties - its our choice to smoke, buy, and trade cigars. If you don`t want what has happened in CDN to happen to you then the push must be done and heard by the politicians. I wonder how many politicians have a desktop humidor with premium cigars sitting on their desks to hand out to their friends.

Nazifornia has our share of conservative congressmen.  Their number is disproportionately low due to gerrymandering.  It is our wacky senators that you have to worry about.

I joined this year, and I agree with all that was said above.

To be honest, I was one of those that said "I will join soon" for way too long.  Now that I've read what the FDA plans on doing, there is no better time than now to join. :shades:
