Weren't no more beautiful sight in the world than the Sangre de Christos and the San Juans in the fall when the quakies turned to gold. I loved that time of year in the San Luis Valley when we lived in Monte Vista all those years ago. That sight meant deer season was gonna start soon!

Yes sir! That's why I picked that to be my backyard. I own about an 2 acre's of the stand but it continues onto Jim my neighbors property for about another 2.5 acres and onto the other side of the road. We bought that back side of the hill together with a Right of Purchase Agreement so it would stay that way   will post some pics this fall.

I think it's going to be a fancy cutter (v-cutter or guillotine, or both....)

It could also possibly double for some sort of homemade circumcision tool. :-0

OK my eager and intrigued Geek's this morning I put the finishing touches on "Fat Man" :dancing:
However, "Little Boy" needs 1 more piece that should be in tomorrow or Wed so looks like they will ship probably Thursday! So guesses will be closed as of Sat.

I knew this would bring out the OCD in most of you but some are going absolutely Bat Shyt crazy over it! So will break my own rule's (cuz I can!) and give you 2 more pieces of information!
1. There are 6 posts in addition to this thread that give clues.
2. "Fat Man" was actually a challenge made by a friend and fellow BOTL to be made entirely using hand tools only with the exception of a cordless drill! And let me tell ya it was NOT as easy as I first thought it would be! Ended up being a 6 cigar lots of cussing project  But given that it was done by hand I'm very pleased.

The anticipation is killing me!  I am a little ocd myself! (ok a LOT ocd).

I will say this... Even if i didn't guess correctly, you have inspired me to create what i have guessed! I may try and start it this week.

Yeah, my money, if I had to guess, is on a walking stick of some kind. Maybe with a built in dog whistle or something. Or maybe a stick to whack bears with if you are braver than me. I prefer to whack bears with a rifle sporting a bullet no less than .40 caliber, 250 grains, and moving somewhere over 2500 fps!

Actually, 1. Walking stick with a hidden compartment to hold a 2-finger cigar caddy, lighter and cutter, with a spot carved in it as a cigar holder. :-)

Seems that would tend to leave some nasty splinters in a delicate area where splinters don't belong. You'd have to come up with an awful good story to satisfy the curiosity of whatever ER technician is assigned to splinter plucking duty.

You are confused. It isn't a homemade version of Walgreens contraption, but is used on the "other" end.  :blech:

If I understand the parameters of this contest correctly, then I, as recipient of the fancy beaver food walking stick with the Camacho tucked inside, get to choose the person whose guess comes closest to the true nature of this device.

In that case, I do believe Reighvin can claim that honor based on the level of detail in his submission:

PM also sent.

Dana,

Congrats! Ken chose you as the contest winner with the closest guess to an Aspen Walking stick w/ Cigar Carrier inside the top. (see Ken's thread). Have a couple of pieces from the 09 batch that are good and dry with a large enough Dia top. Will start in on it later this week and should be able to finish it up by this weekend.

Nice detective work,
Jeff
