So for those of you that have never been to the Mohegan Sun, I thought I would share some of the pics that are actually somewhat viewable. I took these using my cell phone's built-in camera, so sorry they look so s**tty.
This is what you see one you first come out of the hotel lobby. A 5 story rock and waterfall display with a bar at the bottom of the waterfall and the very popular Italian restaurant through an entrance at the base of the waterfall called Tuscany. The chef here is world reknown and has a restaurant in Vegas as well. We ate there one night and it was descent but nothing to write home about (but apparently enough to write on cigargeeks about.) Notice the 2 story glass blown sculpture on the right/middle side - very impressive work.
This was in the "Casino of the Sky" - one of 2 casinos in the hotel. This was the most impressive piece in this casino. A 3 story mountain made of glass. There is a bar at the top, and the sky on the ceiling accurately represents what the real sky looks like at any point in time. So you can watch the stars and moon move in real time. Pretty cool.
This is the entrance to the second casino - the "Casino of the Earth." A really s**tty picture but hopefully illustrates the details of the sculpture of wooden logs tied together to make various towers. This was the more popular casino for the younger crowd. It was more closed in and darker and had a live music stage that plays pretty popuar/famous acts called the "Wolfs Den."
A new BMW they tried to give me, but I had to refuse because it just wasn't too my liking (yeah right)
That's pretty much it. It was a cool place that exceeded my expectations and I believe can easily hang with the big boys in Vegas. 30 bars and restaraunts. All kinds of high end shops. No need to go ever leave - which is a good thing because there isn't anything else out there.
