Hey guys was wondering if any of you have ever tried this? Is called the cigar minder is $4 right now at Cbid $6.50 QB.

What I'm looking to use it for is as a clip on the bike. When we go for group rides and stuff a lot of times we will stop in the canyon and various other places and have a cigar. Would be nice to have some kind of holder. Been using one of my Xikar Ashcans but you know is a bit bulky for this specific purpose.

Comments/Ideas?

I have several of them and they work very well. They are a heavy grade plastic too not cheap crap. I used it for when I was able to smoke at work in my radio car. Clipped that bad boy right on the handle of the spotlight.

See stuff like that is what I needed. Things have a tendency of getting thrown into pouches and saddle bags so I need it to be at least semi durable.

And it doesn't damage the wrapper? About how big of a ring gauge can it comfortably hold?

I have this one and it works great.  Clips to most anything within reason.

Jeff never damaged a wrapper for me. Not sure the max ring gauge it could hold but I don't smoke anything over 56 usually if that helps.

Ya it does. I normally take smaller cigars like Corona Gorda's, Lonsdale's or Petite Robusto's out riding since we normally wont stop more than about an hour.

Thanks for the help. For $4-$6.50 think I'm gonna go ahead and pick one up just to see how it does this summer.

It's about 5.5" long X 1" X 1".  It will hold 38 ring all the way up to 60 without ever damaging a wrapper.  The 38 ring cigars(I love a good lancero) are slightly loose but have never fallen out on me.  Normal coronas on up are firmly held, again without damaging the wrapper.  I have no experience with the one you posted so I cannot compare.

Seem em before. Looks cool but I don't think I would ever use one

There ya go! Thanks a bunch guys. The entire theory behind wanting one is you know we stop for like 45+ minutes or whatever and the whats left of my cigar is junk. By the time we stop again could be 2 hours of sitting in that Xikar ashcan it's horrible if you try lighting it again. With this can just clip it and either finish smoking while I ride or at least have it out so it can be fired up again at the next stop.

I use one golfing quite a bit.  They are pretty good, but I have found it to crack my larger ring cigars after a few times in and out of the clip.

This is what I have used for a long time, they hold up to a 60 ring stick. The clip is strong and stays in place...

That one is pretty cool! Think I would be worried about the cigar coming out of it in the wind though. Keep in mind I'm wanting to clip it to a motorcycle. Will be behind the windshield but there is still a pretty decent about of wind going down the road.

I didn't catch the motorcycle aspect in the conversation - this won't work for that. I use it all the time in a golf cart and its fine on the course but its not deep enough (I have that problem all the time) to secure the stick on the motorcycle...

How hard is it to get the cigar in and out of the clip, and can it be done with gloves on?  I might need one for the bike as well

Wondered all that myself. Looking at it I'm thinking you mount in on the left side clip your cigar facing in. That way you should be able to hit the cigar clip with your palm and take the cigar out with your index finger and thumb.

Well that's the theory at least

It would be a more expensive option but you could get one of the many different drink cup mounts for your bike and then use the Xikar travel can to secure your stick...

Got 3 of em. That's what I use now but when you put that half or whatever is left in there and leave it for a few hours till the next stop the cigar soaks up all the ashtray flavor and is just nasty  :blech:

Overall though the Xikar Ashcan is a great product.

I like the sinky ash can the best, It holds the cigar in place where as the xikar ash can holds  the cigar downwards  which kills the burn and messes with the flavour of the cigar
