"1096" Port is the culmination of 1096 days exposure to full Texas weather including intense heat and sunlight, freezing rain, dust, drought and tornados. The Port laid down in small oak casks in the open has created a deep color, rich mouth feel, density, aroma and flavor unmatched in any other Port.
Dense flavors of orange peel, hazelnut, fig and brown sugar sweetness exist with hints of bullion on the nose. The finish is very long but softer than expected and surprisingly acidic with citrus and caramel flavors. Texas Original Black Spanish ® grapes supply the juice basis for this exciting new entry into the Port world.
