Two choices for pipe lighters, both of them frigging bulletproof.  Number one, blow some serious dough on a dunhill Rollagas lighter with a pipe nozzle--last for frigging ever.  Con--costs about 300-400 bucks.  Option the second, buy a Corona Old Boy pipe lighter (they make the dunhill Unique as well)--even better than the dunhill, costs about 75 bucks.

Now, you know what really works?  Paper matches--two bucks a gross.

I bought some cheap lighters on ebay, but they're a pain to keep refilling and they leak, so it's Bic all the way!

Well if Bics are good enough for Larry then they're good enough for me.

Here's another alternative:  Xikar Pipeline, for about $50.  Very similar to the Corona Old Boy.

Or if you want to go old school, Zippo pipe lighter, less than $20.

I use matches if I can (not too windy), otherwise a bic seems sufficient.  I have used a zippo a few times, but find it leaves a taste of fuel on the tobacco ... maybe it's the fuel I had in it(?)

Xikar, hands down -- $50, guaranteed for life.

Posted elsewhere, but if you use any Butane lighter (other than a cheap Ronson), always use multi-filtered butane fuel such as Vector, Xikar, Zippo or Colibri.  I've used Vector for years -- huge (11+ ounce) cans from Cigars International for $12 and change each.
