I didn't think I would like something as smoky as it but with a bit of cool water I was hooked the first time I had it. Definitely not what I'll start the night off with but it finishes it very well.

Finally found another bottle of Suntory Yamazaki 12 yr Japanese Whisky.  I would put this up against most Highland whiskys any day!

I'll have to keep my eyes open for that.

If you see it, pick it up... they are hard to find after one of the brand's releases won whisky of the year in 2014.

At the moment I am drinking my first try of The Arran 12 yr Cask Strength. Had to tame it with a bit of spring water. So far, a superb whisky.

This stuff would keep me warm on a cold night's herf!

 :bigthumbs: I've read some good reviews about that. Just downloaded an app called Barreled. Makes it easy to see tasting notes from lots of people.

My wedding present from my wife was a bottle of Lagavulin 16. New favorite for sure. My dad, not a Scotch drinker, even enjoyed sipping on a glass.

I will have to keep an eye out while here in Vegas. Utah doesn't carry that in their liquor stores.

Sounds like Lagavulin distillers edition will have to make it on my next order :)

My dad has a 12, 15, and an 18 of this stuff, I don't drink anymore but I agree with you 100% this stuff is on point

Yup but it is a blend not a 12 yr or above - the black label grouse I find much better it can match up to a 12 yr glenfidick though.

Very good and very hard to find in these parts I hear India is now producing scotch and they did get a Scotchsman to show them how to make it.....lol

Wow.  I haven't had a Scotch in years. That used to mey by drick of choice. These days I'm into the craft beer swing, but reading this thead is making be think about indulging in a good scotch

Recently tried glenlevit 18 and it was very nice. Local place has JW George V for 345 which I believe to be a crazy good price, anyone try it?  If it last long enough for me to decide to get it, I'm wondering how good it is. Things like that aren't always worth it but I'm considering it.

My friend gave me some Ardbeg to try for the first time and I really enjoyed the smoke without the saltiness like the Laphroaig (which I do really like). Think I'm going to have to get me a bottle of that too.
