Just ordered a fan for my cigar lounge today, a duct fan for a 5.9 inch duct. Moving 12 360 ft3 of air pr hour. Door is next!  :bigthumbs:

nice. I added one too some time back.

How much air are you moving? I wan't to keep the lounge at low pressure when I smoke, to make sure that air is sucked in rather than smoke leaking out.

you suck out too much air too fast it may very well effect the burn rate of your cigar.  I hope that is adjustable!

How? Because of the decreased pressure or just the movement of air?

And yes, I also bought this  :shy:

1200 cubic feet pr minute? Isn't that a lot? I think mine is around 200, if my calculations is correct. It is 350 m3/h.

I run on low for me and kick it up to what is needed when a bunch of us are smoking. I bought some spiral duct to run down the ceiling with three intakes but haven't got that in yet. it's a pretty big room.

Sounds like a cool setup :) I'll post some pictures when I get it installed.

Had to install some moldings, which left the room a bit messy.

Fan is up, with noise trap and speed regulator.

The working area is starting to come together.

Nice setup. If sound level preoccupies you, since your fan looks like the inline type, you could put if out of the room and away from your working area. Just as effective to move air but much less noise that way.

I use a similar one to suck warm air out of my Home theater's rackmount and the fan/motor is actually hidden in the (suspended) ceiling of the next room.

It's not bad at all after I installed the noise trap actually. And I don't have anywhere else to put it, the outlet goes straight through the wall and out. And we will be getting a patio out there eventually so no room for an outdoor fan. I would if I could though :)

The trap is the box hanging in front of the fan, on the inlet side. No I did not make it, it's apparently made for boats due to it's small size. But I think it would be pretty easy to make one, it's really just a box with insulated sides.
