Pittsburgh sports fans have been really blessed with multiple Super Bowls, World Series wins and Stanley Cup championships.  But never have I been more proud to be be a Pittsburgh sports fan then when the Pittsburgh Penguins honored Canada and fallen soldier Corporal Nathan Cirillo.  Near the end of the anthem you can really hear the crowd.

We spend too much time as a county trying to schmooze countries that have nothing to offer us and continually stab us in the back and not enough time recognizing our true friends like Canada. Thank God they cover our north

As a Canadian, when I read about this in the news.. I can say that I felt touched and honoured from that gesture. And all I can say is . Thank you. It means a great deal to us up here.
