Lets hope this don't go through!  The closest B&M with any kind of boutique cigar selection aside from the norm is an hour away.  I rely pretty heavily on internet purchases, not to mention the savings.

People, people, people, let's worry about this once it gets past committee.  Right now everyone seems to be" chicken littleing" this. Most bills don't make is out of committee. Having four co-signers is not enough. Yes more will jump on but it still needs to pass committee review. With a Republican majority and chairman chances are slim IMHO

But don't let that stop you acting. Let's nip this now. Join CRA, context your congressman/rep. If you don't know how hers is a link to find your rep, all of them have websites that have contact

Still, it's another good reason to have a healthy stockpile of cigars. Tobacco is the bad guy nowadays, and the knuckleheads in congress just can't leave us be!

They'll use this as a jump off point to add additional taxes if possible.  Georgia just allowed Fireworks this past year and were quick to add an excise tax to all sales! And what is the purpose of the excise tax?

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Chapter 10 of Title 25 of  the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to regulation of fireworks, so  as to provide for the sale of consumer fireworks; to provide for definitions; to  provide for licensing; to revise penalties; to amend Chapter 13 of Title 48 of  the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to specific, business, and  occupation taxes, so as to provide for an excise tax on the sale of consumer  fireworks; to provide for criminal penalties; to provide for related matters; to  repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

Besides we cigar smokers fighting this, wouldn't you think USPS, FedEx, UPS would also have a dog in this fight?

If you are worried then do this
1. Join CRA, they can access resources and connections we cannot as individuals.
2. Contact your representatives, while this is just in committee now is the time for it to die!  This is especially important if your rep is on the committee.  Even if your rep my be for this legislation, it is even more important to contact them.

Just as an FYI,  this isn't the only legislation pending before the 114th Congress.
H.R.662 & S.441- Traditional Cigar Manufacturing and Small Business Jobs Preservation Act of 2015 are pending legislation before both houses.  H.R.662 was introduced this February to the House House - Energy and Commerce, then sent to a sub-committee.  It has 129 co-sponsors. S.441 was introduced at the same time to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. It has 16 co-sponsors
But this also shows what happens to the vast majority of legislation introduced, they die in committee.

UPS and Fedex have a dog in the fight. USPS is funded by tax payers regardless of the volume of packages they ship.

Actually the USPS is self sufficient and operates on earned revenue.
