There are shysters all around us, and yes, some of these go-fund things are sketchy. Not knowing who is doing the fundraising, I'm pretty skeptical to begin with. Now, the drunk driver who got hurt, and needs help?...I can see the point of view that says, hey, you did this to yourself, so you must suffer. Makes sense, do the crime, do the time. But, consider the fallout...who else does this affect? Who are you really helping? The wife who is struggling to pay the bills because her husband made a poor decision? The kids, who could really use new clothes, let alone food, because dad was a selfish prick? Maybe this guy was taking care of elderly parents, who couldn't take care of themselves without his help...which he failed to think about before making a decision he will regret for a long time...and now they suffer because of his actions...Point being...one action can affect many people, and all at once...the simplest of actions can help reduce the damage...give...love...simple!
