.7515 is my guess. Thanx for the contest.
I am not concerned about what you think as I can tell you don't do it often.

I used to be a people person, but then people ruined that for me.

Maybe because it's the winning number? Or because it just makes sense, since they are such good cigars, that every 6.666 out of 10 cigars you smoke would be Xiphos. ;-)

May I point out that this should be a 5 digit number, there must be a zero before the decimal point.  You're welcome. :smoker:

Sorry, but you fail at math.  4-digit number.  The 0 serves only to locate the decimal and therefore cannot be considered a significant figure.  Hence, my guess is .3125 or 3.125 x10^-1.  :-P

It is a 5 digit number with 4 significant figures.

Damned structural engineers... Shouldn't you be concentrating on calculating shear forces and such instead of lessening my chances of winning this thing?

And shouldn't you be dreaming up some overbudget Taj Mahal with an irregular grid pattern right now?

Alright, sorry everyone, hit us with some of these :offtopic: if you must, not trying to take over the thread, I just couldn't let Jason get away with that one, that was a lob I had to swing on.

Actually, I thought maybe I should design a building with nothing but load transfers and cantilevers.  Hell lets put it on the west coast while we're at it.

Just remember, if it wasn't for structural gymnastics we wouldn't need nearly as many engineers...
