Hello everyone, just joined. Really like the "my Humidor" feature and searchable database. I've smoked cigars on and off (mostly off) for about 19 years, but have had a recent renaissance, smoking more cigars in the past 6 weeks than I had in the past 19 years. Why? 1. I'm overseas at the moment and it's the only thing I can legally do to unwind at the end of a day (no beer, no scotch here) and 2. This is the first time I've had something other than a machine-made convenience store smoke.

I'm finding that I'm a man of extremes: really enjoying cigars at the two extremes of flavor. I'm a big fan of Candela and Connecticut wrapped cigars, but also enjoy some maduro-wrapped cigars, particularly the Diesel Unholy Cocktail and 5 Vegas Relic... the maduros are hit-and-miss with me, either love 'em or hate 'em. I find most of everything else in between smokeable, but not anything I'm craving, though I do buy them when there's a deal or try them at club events.

One of the main reasons I joined the site was because of the awesome database and my humidor feature. I'd been toying with other methods to keep track of what I have and what I think of them and found this site had the most elegant solution, combining an intuitive design with a user-supported cigar and unbiased ratings database. Thanks to everyone who makes this site possible and to all the members who contribute!

My online humi is fully populated and I've already rated a half-dozen or so smokes.

Welcome to Cigar Geeks. This is a great site with plenty of helpful information, and a very entertaining message board. We're all pretty friendly and a bit crazy, but if you ever have a question you'll be sure to find plenty of answers as we are all full of them.

A wise geek once told me that moving up from a daily smoke to a weekly or even bi-monthly smoke would be worth it, if I could learn how to appreciate a really really good cigar. -southernrun

Welcome to the site,

Yeah the virtual Humidor is the BEST !  when I first stumbled on this website, I was trying to figure out a good system to record my cigars....thought about an excel database, but ya know I work with excel alot at work and I did NOT wanna feel like cigar hobby was work.

Also, I hope you took some time to peruse the Cigar Geeks Critiques - Staff Member Reviews on the home page. They are well worth the read.

In closing, from upstate NY,  welcome !!

Welcome.  Way to jump in on the reviews.

Thanks, I'd been keeping a journal in a notebook, so it was easy to put a bunch of reviews together at once.
