I am wondering who has the best beer in what country including micro breweries. I love the German beers, and in the states I like Samuel Adams. In Canada I like the Sleeman brand but also Creemore, and SteamWhistle, Cuba its the Buccnero, Mexico Crystal. Its funny how everyone has a different take on Beer.

I really, really love the selection of micro brews from the states. It's usually what I'll trade with my American friends when I go for visits. This being said though, many Canadian brands are on the top of my list.

I really like the German brews myself.  Although Belgium has good ones as well.  I think I heard that Belgium has the most breweries per size (square miles?) of any country???  But America has a ton of really great micro boutique beers.  I guess what i'm saying is I love beer.    :dancing: And now I must go get one...been on a Dogfish kick lately myself.  :-)

I haven't had enough to make that determination. I think I need about another 20 years of sampling before I can give an honest answer.

I saw you post that in another thread.  I looked in my local store and they didn't have it.  I'll keep looking.  I really like their stuff.

I've tried a *lot* of beers (being from Northern Canada will do that to you), and I can only say my favorite beer depends on what time of year it is, what kind of mood I'm in, and what I am eating or smoking with it.  I do tend to gravitate to ales, particularly of the dark and stout variety.

Quilter's Irish Death is a great beer :-) So is Harviestoun Old Engine Oil. And Left Hand's Fade To Black. And Flying Dog's Gonzo Imperial Porter. And Bell's Porter - oh! and their Lager of the Lakes. And SmuttyNose Robust Porter. And Legend's Brown Ale ... well, almost anything from Legend's brewery is great.  And Victory's Storm King Stout. And ... I'll stop now. The list would get mighty long.

I love October though, with all the Marzens and Pumpkin Ales. Mmmmmmmmm.
And almost anything from Samuel Adams.
Oh, and in the summer, Franziskaner Hefe-Weissen.

I like beer.

That's like asking what country makes the best cigars.   Depends on what you like.

I like Hefeweizen, and there are none better than what is brewed in Germany.

My favorites are Paulaner and Schofferhoffer.

I think Jason and Paul both hit the nail on the head!

Belgian ales are amazing! I've recently gotten into some great  sour ales (Russian River Consecration Ale... YUM!).
On a more local note, Dogfish Head does some AMAZING brew!!!

I say try anything and everything!!! You never know what you may stumble upon. And if you get the chance...Ironhorse Quilter's Irish Death is a high favorite on my list! Bryan and Armin can testify to the deliciousness of that.

I'm going with the U.S.  Just the Seattle area alone has some amazing variety.  Oregon has some great beers.  90 plus percent of what I drink is northwest U.S.
I'm right 98% of the time.  Who cares about the other 3%?

I like most kinds of beer, but I have to say that I probably like the english ales best.  'Specially ESB.

I'm a huge Guinness fan especially after tasting the un-pasturized in England. Delicious!

Generally I go for stouts but a nice wheat is also nice.

My friend Scott brews an incredible beer but he has become such a miserable, grouchy douche the past few years that it's not worth dealing with to get the beer.

Ceská republika - don't forget the Pilsner beer is from there (Bohemia).

A friend did a special tour to Prague (a dedicated beer tour) where he wisited in 7 days 50 little breweries im town only, he told me that in each such brewery (with a little pub attached to) there were between 10 -20 different types of beer - fun is it.

The Guinness Foreign Extra Stout is amazing with a good maduro.  Drank one recently while smoking a Rocky Patel Edge Sumatra.  What a great combination!  Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout and Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout are also amazing with cigars of this sort.  Really, any good stout will work, especially the ones with the high ABVs.

There's amazing beer from all over the world, and much of it is surprisingly reasonably priced and readily available.  Try as much of it as you possibly can.  :-)
