I haven't had enough to make that determination. I think I need about another 20 years of sampling before I can give an honest answer.
I've tried a *lot* of beers (being from Northern Canada will do that to you), and I can only say my favorite beer depends on what time of year it is, what kind of mood I'm in, and what I am eating or smoking with it. I do tend to gravitate to ales, particularly of the dark and stout variety.
Quilter's Irish Death is a great beer
So is Harviestoun Old Engine Oil. And Left Hand's Fade To Black. And Flying Dog's Gonzo Imperial Porter. And Bell's Porter - oh! and their Lager of the Lakes. And SmuttyNose Robust Porter. And Legend's Brown Ale ... well, almost anything from Legend's brewery is great. And Victory's Storm King Stout. And ... I'll stop now. The list would get mighty long.
I love October though, with all the Marzens and Pumpkin Ales. Mmmmmmmmm.
And almost anything from Samuel Adams.
Oh, and in the summer, Franziskaner Hefe-Weissen.
I like beer.
