I love sour beers.  I am a big fan of Lambics (real ones, not those artificially flavored things that are marketed as Lambics)

As I understand it most people do, but personally I don't like much of anything sour.  I tend to prefer bitters which is what makes me like the IPA and ESB.

Most people can't handle real Lambic.  It is too sour for them.  I love it though.   We have a microbrewery that makes it a few miles away from where I live.

My buddy is a brewer in Seattle and is really into sour beers (he's currently making a sour Cherry Stout in port barrels). He mentioned that some of his favorite sour beers are from Cantillon. It's pricey stuff, but apparently delicious! I can;t wait to get my self some bottles of this stuff. You guys should give it a try.

EDIT: Forgot to mention. The Consecration Ale form Russian River Brewery is pretty damn tasty as well!

Nick can u arrange for me to be able to buy a 6pak or 2 from your buddy? (if his yield would allow for that?)
It sounds like its gonna be amazing!

I think blue moon is the best domestic. Slice of orange in it and its tits.

Although I wouldn't say it is the best domestic, you are right - Blue Moon with orange is very good.

My new thing is Hefeweizen w/ Orange juice!

Hell yes.  Lambics are incredible.  I love the Lindemans Framboise and Pomme, and their gueuze, Cuvée René.  The gueuze is insanely sour and completely different from any other beer I've ever had, in a good way.  If I could afford it, I'd drink lambics and gueuzes every day.

For the absolutely insane bitter beer drinker, my local BevMo carries Brew Dog, Sink the Bismark.  Quadruple IPA 41% ABV.

That's just plain crazy...

I think I'll just stick to bourbon or vodka if I want something with that kind of ABV.  I'm all for the high ABV beers, but 41% is just absurd.

I had an Old Foghorn Barleywine from Anchor Brewing Co. in San Francisco today.  I've had a six pack aging in the fridge for a year now.  So damn good.  I have a six of Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine and a four pack of Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout aging for next year.

I can't wait until June.  I've been aging an Ommegang Three Philosophers, and the year will be up on June 17th.  That will truly be an event.  I wonder what cigar I'll have with it?

Belgium.  Between Trapist and Wit Beers, best stuff out there.

X2.  There's a bunch of micro brews here in CO that do belgium style beers.  Works for me.

I'm amazed the beer lasted that long! It would be too hard not to drink it if I knew it was there. Something to think about though.

I will check with him. I don't know if it's something for his job, or if it's a pet project, but I know I'd love some of it too.

Most of my beer comes with a "born on" date, to make sure I don't age it too long.

Chris, if you come out this way, let me know.  We can get a couple of lambics at the microbrewery in Fullerton.

Sounds like a plan, Jackal!  I'm always down for some lambic, especially when it's on tap.

If it's micro-brews you want you need to come see me in little ole Montana!!

I have a local dive that serves 21 (yes that's right twenty one!) Montana made micro-brews and every one of them has wonderful merit.

You come see me, I'll buy until we have to scrape you into the car!

How can he promise this?    Simple answer, my little dive only charges $3 for a big mug!

Come one! Come all!

I would say Oregon is definitely Top 5 based on; McMenamins Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewery, Deschutes Brewery and Rogue Brewery alone. These 4 breweries make some excellent beer.

Anyone in the metro Detroit area needs to try some Dragonmead Beer. http://www.dragonmead.com/ Great brewery in Warren that makes strong great tasting beer.

Final Absolution is a 10% Belgian style that is a silent assassin. They come in four packs for a reason.

Under the Kilt Wee Heavy is my favorite while enjoying a cigar. It's a Scottish style ale with a 7.8% ABV.
Insert witty phase here,
while I clear my mind and enjoy this cigar.

Man, its a quarter to 10 in the morning and after reading this thread, I really want to drink... I am surprised with all of the fans of Wits and Lambics that no one has thrown Allagash into the mix. They are a small brewery in Portland, Maine that make some of my favourite American-Belgians. Their Curiex and Odyssey offerings are nothing short of amazing! Look for them at Whole Foods and I think Trader Joe's might carry them.

Sierra Nevada hands down for me.  My hometown brew.  If you live in Cali, I highly reccomend making the visit to the brewery to sample their beers.  When I used to live there, every night there was a bar that had dollar pitcher nights.  I remember the first time asking for a pint and being told that a pitcher was cheaper.  I almost fainted.
